Tele Vue EPL-32.0 overview

  • 1Description

Engineered to Al Nagler's uncompromising standards but at an entry-level price, the Tele Vue Plossl 32mm Eyepiece has one of the longest focal lengths in the series, and the longest in the Group 'B' family, to produce a low magnification for both near and deep-sky observations.

It is made using diffraction-limiting high-index glass lenses in a 4-element/2-group configuration to keep light on-axis and reduce astigmatism and edge-aberrations across its generous 50° apparent field of view. Fully multi-coated optics, blackened lens elements, and anti-reflection threads complement the optical components to improve contrast and light transmission, while limiting its loss. Its exceptional 22mm eye relief allows users the room to back off from the eyecup for a more comfortable viewing experience with a reduced risk of accidental contact with the eyepiece lens which can cause vibrations and interfere with views. Ideal for fast-focal ratio OTAs, the eyepiece features a standard 1.25" barrel to be compatible with the most popular size of focuser and accessories, with a convenient fold-down rubber eyecup. This model of the Plossl series is parfocal with all Tele Vue Group 'B' eyepieces, allowing you to change compatible eyepieces without having to refocus — saving time and limiting vibrations.

    Tele Vue EPL-32.0 reviews

    Plossl 32mm Eyepiece (1.25") is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tack sharp As someone who's been involved in amatuer astronomy for a long time, eyepieces had always been an area I skimped on so I decided to start down the road of quality. Tele Vue eyepieces are pricey, but they're well worth the money. This 32mm Plossl (and a new dielectric diagonal) probably almost doubled the view quality in an Orion ST80. The stars are pinpoints with much better contrast versus the included eyepieces. I also tried it out in a Celestron C6 and likewise, improved the views quite a bit. If you're looking for a great jump into the Tele Vue line, these are a great starting point.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very Nice Eyepiece Good eyepiece, although I don't know that it's worth the money, I compare to 26mm Meade series 4000, not a big difference. On the good side it offers nice views and a wide field.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from TeleVue 32mm Plossel I Purchased the TV 32mm Plossel to be used with my TV-102 refractor along with a Solarscope 60mm Hydrogen Alpha filter system. This combination provides a stunning full view of the sun with amazing contrast. It's an incredible combination of hardware with no downfalls.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sharp lens for solar observation This is the recommend eyepiece by Daystar Filters to use with the Quark Filters on SCT. The contrast is better than the other eyepiece I tested for this purpose.
