Powermates are the highly-evolved answer to the Barlow lens design from Tele Vue.

While barlow lenses increase the eye relief of the eyepiece in use, they also reposition the exit pupil of long focal length eyepieces far from the designer's intended position. This can cause vignetting and image degradation.

Using four elements, the Powermates leave the exit pupil where it was intended to be, restoring the full viewing aperture and optical quality of long focal length eyepieces. Have the best of both worlds; the long eye relief of the longer focal length eyepieces, but with higher magnification!

Nearly parfocal with 2.00" diagonals, the 2.00" Powermates are threaded to accept 48mm filters and their performance is exemplary with every 1.25" & 2.00" eyepiece in the Tele Vue line.

Directly accepts all 2" eyepiece
Threaded for 48mm filters
Works well with diagonals, unlike many normal Barlow lenses
Accepts optional PTR-2200 SLR camera adapter (imaging w/o eyepiece)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 2x powermate performance I received by 2x-2 inch powermate last night and was not expecting to see an improvement in deep sky object enhancement. I figured that planetary viewing improvements would be the acceptable, only. However, to my surprise, when I saw M-15, in my light polluted back yard, in Lafayette, LA, I was said,WOW. The stars shot out towards me after attaching the powermate to my 21mm Ethos, after I viewed through the 21mm Ethos, initially. Thanks for the fine product I purchased from you and note the B&H customer service was so proficient and had the best price, by far.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best way to increase magnification I am using the Powermate to photograph the moon through an 80mm refractor telescope. The Powermate slips into the focuser followed by the T-Ring adapter PTR2200. A standard T-Ring and then the DSLR. This setup gives 1200mm of focal length providing a nice image size for the moon. All connections are solid with no play making focusing easy.
