I have a 35 mm lens I use for portrait photography, is this camera different than what my 35mm can do? I am looking to upgrade it so I can zoom in out and take pretty blurry photos from farther away.
Asked by: Cheyenne
Yes, the Tamron 90mm f/2.8 SP AF Di Macro Lens for Nikon AF would be much different from a 35mm lens. While you do not specify which model Nikon DSLR camera you own (or whether you are using a full-frame camera or a cropped-sensor camera), a 35mm lens on a full-frame camera would be considered a wide-angle lens, which would be good for environmental portraits, some indoor images, street photography, or other situations when you need a wide lens. On a cropped sensor camera, a 35mm lens would be similar to a standard/normal focal length, with a full-frame equivalent focal length of 52.5mm. It would be good for candid images. The 90mm focal length is a short telephoto lens. On a full-frame camera, it would have the listed 90mm focal length, and on a cropped sensor camera, it would have a full-frame equivalent focal length of a 135mm lens. This would be well into the portrait focal length range or whenever a short telephoto lens is needed. The lens has a bright f/2.8 aperture, which is large enough to allow you to blur the background for increased bokeh for portrait images. Due to the longer focal length, if you are shooting from the same distance with both lenses, you would view more apparent background blur with a 90mm lens at f/2.8 compared to your 35mm lens also at f/2.8. As this is a macro lens, you will also be able to focus much closer to your subjects with more magnification for close-up photography usage needs. Do note, this is NOT a zoom lens, so you cannot zoom in-and-out with this lens, and instead, you will have to physically move closer and farther away from the camera to change the perspective or framing of your subject. If you are looking for a zoom telephoto Nikon-mount telephoto lens with a bright aperture, as an alternative, I would recommend the Tamron 70-200mm f/2.8 Di LD (IF) Macro AF Lens for Nikon AF, B&H # TA7020028MN, for your usage needs.

Is it compatible nikon z7

Is it compatible nikon z7
Asked by: Micheal
The Tamron 90mm f/2.8 SP AF Di Macro Lens for Nikon AF, B&H # TA9028MNAF, is designed for use on the Nikon F-mount lens mount, while the Nikon Z7 Mirrorless Digital Camera uses the Nikon Z-mount lens mount. The lens would not be directly compatible. As such, you would need to purchase the Nikon FTZ Mount Adapter, B&H # NIFTZ, to connect the lens to the Nikon Z7 Mirrorless Digital Camera. However, do note that you will have to focus the lens manually when using this lens on the Nikon Z7 Mirrorless Digital Camera as autofocus capability is not supported with this lens.

DI is comparable with VR ?
Asked by: Ayaakodan
The Di designation states that the lens optimized for a DSLR. This is a separate feature from the Vibration Reduction, which is Nikon's stabilization system in some of their lenses. A comparable lens option by Tamron with Vibration Compensation is the Tamron SP 90mm f/2.8 Di Macro 1:1 VC USD Lens for Nikon F, B&H # TA9028SPN. https://bhpho.to/30SztYT
