Audio-Technica ATW-3141b overview

  • 1Description

The Audio-Technica ATW-3141bC Wireless Handheld System is a frequency agile, true-diversity handheld wireless microphone system that includes the ATW-R3100bC receiver and the ATW-T341bC handheld transmitter. This system is tuned to band C (655.500-680.375 MHz), but is also available in bands D (655.500-680.375 MHz) and I (482.000-507.000 MHz).

The ATW-R3100bC Receiver features Automatic Frequency Scanning, which selects the best available frequency. The True Diversity feature means that the ATW-R3100bC has two independent receiver sections, and automatically sends the strongest signal of the two to the output at any given moment.

The rear panel reveals both unbalanced 1/4" TS and balanced XLR outputs. A comprehensive back-lit LCD display reveals channel and frequency settings, signal status and transmitter battery status. The receiver also offers a ground lift switch, convenient in situations where bad power feeds result in ground hum and noise on the output stage.

The ATW-T341bC Handheld Transmitter is equipped with an AE4100 cardioid dynamic element. The cardioid polar pattern effectively minimizes noise and feedback at the off-axis sections. The mic has a dual output section that lets you select high or low power, depending on your needs. The low power setting uses up the mic's two AA batteries more slowly. The mic can get up to 8 hours of life in that setting. On the high power setting, you get up to 6 hours of operation before needing to change batteries.

    Audio-Technica ATW-3141b reviews

ATW-3141bC Wireless Handheld System is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 15.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great quality and a really good system for the money We have purchased three of these systems total (one head worn and two handheld) and like them very well. The battery indication is very handy. The battery use seems to be in line with what the specs say. The audio quality and clarity are very good. If you are looking for a GOOD wireless solution and trying to save a few bucks by going with the low-end versions...DON'T! Spend the extra bucks and get one of these semi-professional systems (at least that is what I would call it) and you will be much happier over time. We upgraded from the low-end Audio Technica versions and are MUCH happier.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome wireless!!! I put this wireless in my mesa bass rig and it has performed flawlessly. I was looking at another manufacturer and a friend suggested this one. It was less expensive than the one I was looking at and I couldn't be happier with the results. I have used it indoors and outdoors with absolutely no issues. I couldn't recommend it enough for anyone wanting to go wireless.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product, even better investment Having used AT3K systems extensively, both lav and handhelds, they get two thumbs up. We use them primarily with praise and worship teams, but also for spoken word with regional and national speakers. I'm a fan of the 831 uni lavs for sound quality, the beltpacks are extremely durable, have never had interference problems with 10+ freqs in use at a time. I love the protective inserts to keep stray hands from the bodypack controls! The handhelds work well for vocals, effective pattern control for our uses. My only concern - the 'mute' on the handheld transmitters can be inadvertently activated by nervous tapping fingers - I'd love to see a 'lockout' on these. Five stars from me - we'll keep on spec'ing them and using them. Thanks AT!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Don't list an item you aren't selling. I've used the 3000 series for several years in a prolific music theatre. These are good packs for their price, and the handhelds are okay when they are handled with care. With the D band becoming unavailable we were planning on purchasing more of these models in the I and C bands. I am disappointed with Audio Technica for continuing to post this item with it's price when it is clearly no longer being manufactured for purchase. We are also upset that the only reasonable alternative, the 4th generation, has an different cable connector. If we went with the 4th generation we would have to purchase an entire set of new lavs plus spares. Which means it is just about as cost effective to switch to a higher quality brand rather then deal with these new problems. Over this period of time the packs and receivers did admirably in a stressful environment. The most common faults have been batteries falling out, and the occasional antenna snapped off by improper actor handling. I would purchase again if made available.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best wireless system I have ever used. The 3000 series microphones are really great. I have used mine for many applications -- a rock band, a worship band, in an acoustic setting, for spoken word, and even in a pinch for recording. The set-up of the system is exceptionally simple. The use of the microphone power/stand-by switch is very intuitive and the battery life has been very good as well. The sound quality I have found to be exceptional, even in very soft settings. The gain settings make it very easy to adapt to any live situation.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding Wireless System While there are better AT Wireless systems, the 3000 series gives outstanding results for use in meeting, convnetions and special events. I have used the 3000 series for vocalists in bands that perform at our events with no complaints and excellent sound reproduction. We own 8 systems and have never had a problem either with cross talk or interferience. We have had minor hits when the batteries are low and need to be replaced. We have never had to change frequencies because of interference.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Dropouts plague these systems. Not worth it... I have 12 of these systems. I have stopped using them. I replaced them all with wired mics, and purchased three choral hanging mics with stand adaptors so I can mic the entire stage with a wired system. I set each receiver's frequency individually so that there were NO conflicts, put in new batteries, and tested the handhelds and the theatermic/bodypac combinations. They worked, but only when there was no one else in the room. The second I put them on my performers, drop-outs galore. The only explanation I can figure is that many of my actors wear hearing aids. They aren't in the same frequency range, but the mics gave me FITS for the entire run of our play. Done with this concept and brand. The only reliable wireless mics I have are vhf not uhf. There is also no depot level maintenance -- I have to send to the factory for any repairs.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from "A Great System" I have the ATW 341bc system and I like it a lot. I like the simplicity of set-up. I like the size and shape of the transmitter, it has a great feel to it, it doesn't feel cheap, and it also produces great sound. I have ordered and just received the ATW 371bc condenser transmitter to go along with it. These are the types of transmitter that needs to come with the digital system.
