Matthews Hollywood Arm Reviews

It arrived broken on one end.

In general, I'm pleased with this arm. The only issue is that it has a plastic cap on one of its ends, which, in my case, it arrived broken.

This gobo arm was purchased to replace one that had been used to chip ice to free a grip truck out of an alley. Then some grip left it in the alley and the metal guys grabbed. I bought a new one. It works great for setting flags and such as well as chipping ice.

How much weight will a grip arm support ?

Using the Avenger Turtle Base C-Stand with the Matthews Hollywood 40" Gobo arm with Mathews Hollywood 2.5 inch Grip Head attached I suspended one gallon of water from the grip-head end. The arm was angled up 12 degrees from level. One gallon water = 8.34 lbs Grip Head = 1.4 lbs shipping weight I have not used this rig for anything heavier than this so I can only say it temporally supported 9.7 pounds. There was a slight bow to the Gobo arm.

question

Will the diameter of the arm fit into a standard umbrella swivel adapter?
Asked by: Anonymous
The diameter of this arm would be too large to fit the umbrella slot on a standard umbrella swivel adapter.
