Leupold 55895 overview

  • 1Description

The Quick Release Binocular Harness strap from Leupold evenly distributes a binocular's weight across your back and shoulders, as well as keeping them close to your body to prevent swinging. It is ideal while using binoculars during activities where you'll be moving around quite a bit. An added benefit to a suspender harness strap is that you'll be able to hold your binocular steadier thanks to the elasticity maintaining a bit more tension which lends significant support. The strap can be used with any binocular, but it is not recommended for models with objectives of 50mm or larger.

Quick Release Binocular Harness is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 13.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good sturdy harness I purchased this harness for use with Zeiss Conquest HD 8x32 binoculars. Although they are not very heavy, I found that the binoculars can still cause neck strain when using them for long periods of time with their supplied neck strap. This harness takes away the neck strain, and has the added bonus of decreasing binocular bounce and sway while walking. I especially like the quick release design of this harness; it attaches to the binoculars without any metal or plastic pieces contacting the binoculars (unlike many other harness designs), and the buckles make attaching and detaching quick and easy. I would definitely purchase this again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Eliminates Neck Strain, Most comfortable One of my friends is ranked top 10 birders in the US. He recently acquired this Leupold harness product tip from a fellow birder and then shared with me. From the moment I put them on it was instant gratification. When you carry a lot of gear around these are essential. Even if you don't, why not go in comfort and relieve your neck for a mere $ - these are a no brainer. No instructions but there's a youtube video on how to use these. How to connect: remove old clips from side of binoculars. Slide loop portion of the Leupold Harness clip through the left side of your binos narrow strap slot. Now hold the elastic black loop and push the clip portion of this through itself to make a knot then repeat for right side. Once you have two secured clips afixed to your binos then clip into each side of the harness. Just keyword Leupold Binocular harness on Youtube if unfamiliar with how to use this item.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't buy I bought this late last summer and have since used it about once a week, usually one hour a time or a bit more. A week ago it broke, turns out the part that the two thin pieces of string which connect to the binocular were not sufficiently fastened to a leather strap so now it's in two pieces and useless. So it only held together for maximum 50 hours of use. Even before this happened I was not so satisfied, mainly since the straps are too narrow - should be wider to be comfortable to wear. And the whole thing seems a bit flimsy. But I would have given it three stars if it hadn't become useless so fast.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Disappointed I purchased Leupold's Quick Release Binocular Harness to accompany my Leupold Mojave BX-3 10x50 binoculars. I purchased this item in the belief it would be compatible with the neck strap system that came with the BX-3 binoculars, i.e., interoperability. I was wrong. The BX-3s come from the factory with a comfortable neck strap with quick release clips on each end. These clips are smaller than the quick release clips that come with the Leupold harness. So just one set of quick release clips on the binoculars cannot work with both the neck strap and the harness. You have to choose one or the other. Take a memo here Leupold compatibility within your own product lines can be a good thing. Additionally, shame on me for not taking a much closer look at the product pictures on B+H's website. Other than that, I find this to be a good, well-made product, easy to adjust. It does a good job spreading the binocular's weight across your shoulders rather than your neck. It's an easier way to walk/hike with your binoculars at the ready. Not B+H's fault, but I (back) ordered the harness in early November 2014 specifically for a two week trip I was going to take in mid-March 2015. Murphy, being the optimist he is, finally delivered them to me on April 1st. Note: Made in China.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this product so far. Using this product with all kinds of clothing from jackets to layers of shirts, down to a T-shirt, the product is extremely comfortable and fit no matter what you are wearing without have to make adjustments. It is great and very comfortable to wear, It makes a big difference from wearing the around the neck strap. The only concern is that it is a stretchy material and not sure if it will get too stretched out after a lot of use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very nice product. I would definitely purchase again. I use harnesses on all of my binoculars, personal and those used for work, and these are my favorite so far. The quick release buckle just sets them apart in my opinion. The buckles also come in really handy when you need to pass your binoculars off to someone else.
