This Chimera Quick Release Speed Ring is aluminum, and heat resistant. It allows mounting of Chimera, or almost any other brand rectangular or video-series softbox to a Dynalite 1015 or 4040, 2040 flash head.

The Quick Release Series releases the tension of the wands in the frame of your softbox, allowing it to collapse easily for breakdown, or for moving on quickly to the next setup without disassembling the box.

Quick Release Speed Ring for Dynalite R is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 7.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Brilliant design, solidly built. This product gives the speed in speedring some sort of valid meaning as it very much speeds up and simplifies the setting up and taking down of softboxes. The product is easy to use, solidly built, and extremely functional. You really cannot go wrong with this. Though it costs about three times as much as most speedrings, it's worth every penny to guys like me who mostly work on location without an assistant and who need to be able to set up the equipment quickly and without fuss or pain. From here on in, this is the only type of speedring I use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Why didn't I think of that?! Perhaps the best speedring I have ever used. I can't tell you how many softbox rods I have bent from trying to assemble them into a speedring. This Quick release Chimera ring is genius and makes setting up and breaking down a softbox an absolute breeze. The build of the anodized blue aluminum is top notch and heavy duty. No more fumbling around in front of subjects or clients each mounting point swivels 90 degrees and the locking screws secure the rods until you pop open the box. Why didn't I think of that?! I also use this ring with non Chimera boxes and it performs great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Improvement on a Basic Product I love using these speed rings, they are great for those softboxes (especially strip boxes) that are difficult to remove from the ring. Each pole can be removed by pulling a small lever that releases the tension and collapses the box. You can use it to put together a difficult box as well. Only downside I can think is that they are a little bulkier than a normal speedring, but now by much.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Built to last, Built to look good! As far as aesthetics are concerned, this line of speed ring appear to be machined by the folks at NASA. The design is flawless, the materials are space age... I never could have dreamed a speed ring could be so cool... Way to go Chimera. Takes a few tries to get the hang of how it works, but once you get used to it you'll never go back to the analog rings.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic I opted to skip the standard speed ring for this style and do not regret that decision at all. These pieces of art make working with massive softboxes painless. Their construction is impeccable and I would never purchase any other speed ring.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Short on Screws This beauty is great at what it does. It is really easy to use. My only gripe is that for $ you would think that they would include the screws. For the Dynamite heads there needs to be there screws to clamp it onto the head. It does not come with any so a trip to the hardware store is in order. Besides that it is awesome.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolute best speedrings for softboxes This thing is so simple, yet make softbox assembly no harder than an umbrella. No fighting with the rods nothing. Well worth the price
