ZEISS 1365-667 overview

  • 1Description

Lens hoods are primarily designed to prevent unwanted stray light from entering the lens by extending and shading the end of the lens. In addition, since the end of the lens is extended, you also get the added benefit of some extra protection from accidental impact.

Dedicated lens hoods are designed to match the specific focal length of the lens it was designed for.

ZEISS 1365-667 reviews

Lens Hood for 35mm and 50mm is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 21.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from very nice lens hood (w/ some filter limitations) This lens hood is great. It attaches securely, and it provides great protection as well as shade for the lens. I have found that this lens hood works perfectly with: B+W 43mm (MC) UVa HAZE #010 (2C) FILTER B&H# BWUVMC43 : Mfr# 66023185 but does NOT work with: B+W 43mm (MC) KAESEMANN HTC CIRC POL FILT B&H# BWKCPMCH43 : Mfr# 661081891 The fit of the lens hood around the UV filter is close, precise, and perfect. But the finger grip around the barrel of the polarizing filter at the rear where it attaches to the lens is too wide to be used with this lens hood (I am still looking for a replacement polarizing lens).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice Hood Nice hood, not much to say really. Though if you want to know a secret, the Voigtlander hood for the VM 35mm/1.4 Nokton in M Mount is the same.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent hood Does what it says on the box. Solidly made, not so heavy even though it's metal. And when you get it on (simple press & twist, though lining up the very first time was uncertain as the hood is well marked, but the lens barrel less so), it stays on securely and solidly. Simple press & reverse twist to remove.. I use it with the Planar on my Ikon, and notice no obscurement in the viewfinder.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice hood, But shouldnt have to buy Its a great hood. Strong and it doesn't bother me as i look through the view finder. Its also built in such a way that taking it off and putting it on wont wear any lock tabs. It's a Push down and twist type action. Very nice. However, like the Canon/Nikon Zeiss lenses, the hood should have come with the lens. Its a good hood though, offering good protection for the lens.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Custom bayonet hood more compact Lensmaker's custom hood is a better fit & more compact than a generic hood. Lens+hood ends up being shorter overall - saves room in the bag, easier handling, less obtrusive in use. Because the bayonet mount is outside the rim, it doesn't interfere with (get stacked on) your filter. Well worth the money if you have it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works well, bummer it doesn't come with lens Works well. Keep in mind you need to push it down to get it off your lens. Loses a star because I really wish that Zeiss would provide this with the lens itself.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great! Love this lens shade, but hate the lens caps! Zeiss needs to match the quality of its lens caps to the shade.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from It does the job but it's bulky If one wants to use a hood with the Zeiss 35 or 50 mm M lens there is little choice. This (quite expensive) hood does the job well but it increases significantly the bulk of the lens as it sticks out quite a bit when mounted. As a result, it obstructs the vision in the view finder: without it you almost can't see the lens, but with the hood the bottom right corner gets obscured. I think for the price Zeiss could have come up with something better.
