Ideally suited for landscape and architectural photography, the silver Biogon T* 25mm f/2.8 ZM from ZEISS is a versatile wide-angle prime designed for M-mount rangefinder cameras. Its 82° angle of view is complemented by a Biogon optical concept, which nearly eliminates distortion for well-corrected, accurate rendering. A T* anti-reflective coating has also been applied to individual elements to reduce lens flare and ghosting for greater color accuracy and contrast in strong lighting conditions. Additionally, the lens's manual focus design permits working with subjects as close as 1.6' away.

Biogon optical concept benefits the wide-angle focal length by helping to virtually eliminate distortion for clean, realistic rendering.
ZEISS T* anti-reflective coatings have been applied to each lens surface to help minimize reflections in order to provide greater image clarity, contrast, and color fidelity.
Manual focus design enables a minimum focusing distance of 1.6'.

Biogon T* 25mm f/2.8 ZM Lens (Silver) is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 11.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful Images with M8 This is a great lens for use with the Leica M8 camera. But you need to encode it as a 24mm Leica Elemarit. Once encoded, with a 46mm IR/Cut filter in place, the colors are vibrant and beautiful. Without the encoding and IR/Cut filter, the colors are somewhat off. I hesitated buying this lens because all my other lenses for the M8 are Leica and I really like the look of Leica glass. And when I first put this lens on my M8 without the encoding, the colors just didn't look good. I was planning on sending it back, but then encoded it and WOW, the colors just popped. I now love the look of this lens and it will probably be on my camera more than my Leica glass.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tack sharp, excellent build, great lens. I use the Biogon 25mm as a roughly 33mm equivalent on my Leica M8.2. A perfect moderate wide-angle for the M8M8.2. Right when I opened the package I noticed the solid build and handling of the lens. It's a great size and weight for the Leica M System. After my first couple of shots I was sold. Tack sharp at all apertures, great warm color rendition, outstanding bokeh wide open at 2.8, and excellent handling and quality. I could not justify paying Six Thousand for the 24 Summilux, so I had to try this before even considering the outlandish cost of the Summilux. Needless to say, the Biogon 25mm will be staying with me, and the extra funds will go to buying more glass. Overall, this lens is fantastic. The only con I see is paying the extra money for the lens hood. That's not a big deal for M Users, obviously.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sharp, good flare immunity, high quality The 25mm f/2.8 Biogon T* ZM lives on my M8 most of the time. Great for working / environmental portraits, architecture, people in groups. Good flare immunity - single small flare or none when shooting with sun just outside picture or in it. The 25mm Biogon's field of view matches the M8's 24mm frame lines very well at long distances - finally, what you see in the viewfinder is what you get on pixels. While not quite as sparkling as Leica's latest ASPH lenses, the 25mm Biogon is a very competent image maker - for a third the cost of the 24mm f/2.8 Elmarit-M ASPH. Don't get me wrong, I love Leica's ASPH lenses for the way they paint images. But you have a choice of rendition versus cost now, where before there was none.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Brilliant micro four thirds normal I'm using this on my Olympus E-PL5 as my normal lens, and the results are great. Sharp, contrasty, with a lot of depth to the photos. Build quality is perfect, it's a precision instrument. Focus is smooth with no play. The silver version is really attractive and easy to read. The only issue on the Olympus is a slight cyan corner vignette in some scenes at f/2.8. Usually I can't even see it, and it goes away completely by f/4. I'm using the Panasonic M-mount adapter, which is working perfectly and looks nice.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from TINY, SOLID AND WARM COLOR I use it on my M9 without a viewfinder. Sharp as a razor and very warm color. Tiny so it is a great companion for travel. I am very happy about this purchase.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Crisp and clean This is a great lens. Color is good, resolution sharp, build is top notch. I like everything about this lens. I give it 4 stars only because it doesn't have the 6 bit coding for Leica (set manually for 24/2.8) and the lens cap could be improved. The glass itself is great. I'm glad I bought this lens instead of spending lots more on the Leica version. This will likely be my most used lens for this camera. I'm using on the Leica M-E and find it is a great combination.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Zeiss 25mm 2.8 Biogon ZM This is my fourth Zeiss ZM lens and is top-notch as are the others. Mechanical and image quality is simply great.I really like the Zeiss look. I use this wide angle for close-in, crowded, pre-focused street photography and for scenics. Sharpness and color rendering is superb.
