Impact S3233 Overview

Umbrellas soften, broaden, and diminish the light output of any flash light source. Umbrellas with a white interior will soften and weaken light more than an umbrella with a silver lining. A white umbrella without a black backing may also be used as a makeshift softbox, although the use of the light will not be as efficient as with a lightbox.

Choosing umbrella size is determined by the size of the subject, and the strength of the light supply being used. Choosing an umbrella surface is as subjective as choosing a paint and brush.

This Impact 33" White Translucent Umbrella is suggested for use in head-and-shoulders portraits for one or two persons.

Can these be safely used with a 650w tungsten fresnel light?
Asked by: Michael S.
Unfortunately, this umbrella is only rated for use with a 200-300 watt tungsten light.

question

Specifications for these lights such as Flash duration, flash triggering method, how fast it can trigger and recover. I don't have the specks for this?? Help, it is for school! Thank you! Michelle Martin
Asked by: Michelle M.
This particular light source would be continuous tungsten light set up, so there would be no specifications for it regarding flash duration, recycle time or triggering method. The light source would simply turn on and off with an inline switch on the power cord. Those types of specifications are specific to strobe lighting. Please see the link for reference to a strobe kit: http://bhpho.to/1HDmFVHThis strobe system would have a recycle time of 3 seconds at full power, a flash duration of 1/1000 at full power and 1/1500 at minimum power. It can be triggered via the include sync cord connected to a camera with a sync terminal or you may use an option wireless trigger like the following: http://bhpho.to/1riehZv

question

Hello. I need a couple of shoot thru umbrella arround 80cm in diameter but is a must to have a solid center rod and fiber for radial rods. Can u recomand something on a budget that dont cist much but have that caracteristics? Thank you in advance
Asked by: Dan F.
I own quite a few umbrellas, most of which are translucent, all of which were included with the lighting system I purchased from B&H photo. Each one is constructed as you have specified as a must to meet your needs. They each have a solid center rod that feels and appears to be made of stainless steel. I cannot comment on the radial rods being fiber or not, since they are all covered by the translucent material/fabric. My best advice here would be to contact B&H Photo and speak to one of their very knowledgeable staff members. They have helped me many times in finding just what I needed, even if they are not the ones who sell it.David C

question

what is the color temp of these bulbs?
Asked by: Anonymous
The bulb spec is 3200k. I havent done anything to verify this but the auto white balance on the camera yields decent color accuracy. Good enough for web publishing.Hope this is helpful.
