Impact S3233 Overview

Umbrellas soften, broaden, and diminish the light output of any flash light source. Umbrellas with a white interior will soften and weaken light more than an umbrella with a silver lining. A white umbrella without a black backing may also be used as a makeshift softbox, although the use of the light will not be as efficient as with a lightbox.

Choosing umbrella size is determined by the size of the subject, and the strength of the light supply being used. Choosing an umbrella surface is as subjective as choosing a paint and brush.

This Impact 33" White Translucent Umbrella is suggested for use in head-and-shoulders portraits for one or two persons.

This product is disposable at $10, OK? I knew that going in, so I had no preconceived ideas about its durability. But it's actually 33 across (some are measured over the back, ugh!) I bought it for a beach shoot, so if it blew away, I didn't care because I bought two. It comes with a sleeve (+) but no Velcro strap. No big deal. Buy it. Use it indoors and take care of it it'll last 20 years.

thumbs up for the shoot through umbrella

I own a bunch of these but have to purchase more because of the wind. the wind will carry the open umbrella so I forgot to put sandbags at the base.

As a videographer, I never really used an umbrella diffuser . . . until I did. Nice to have a cheap thing work very well. I love the soft light this thing gives off paired with my GVM LED light. I use it at weddings as a nice soft key light during darker receptions. Definitely will by another!

It is a basic umbrella. It is fragile. What you expect for the price. Not for frequent or heavy use. If you use it every now and then, as I do, it should be fine.

It does as expected.

It works fine and I like the price because I know umbrellas can sometimes be lost or damaged by wind. It fits just fine in the Godox S2 mount. I have used with a speedlight and I found that it is generally best to set the flash to its widest angle and/or flip down the wide angle panel, for the best light distribution in the whole umbrella.

I only use it for photos. Don't see why it could not also be used for video.

Hello. I need a couple of shoot thru umbrella arround 80cm in diameter but is a must to have a solid center rod and fiber for radial rods. Can u recomand something on a budget that dont cist much but have that caracteristics? Thank you in advance
Asked by: Dan F.
I own quite a few umbrellas, most of which are translucent, all of which were included with the lighting system I purchased from B&H photo. Each one is constructed as you have specified as a must to meet your needs. They each have a solid center rod that feels and appears to be made of stainless steel. I cannot comment on the radial rods being fiber or not, since they are all covered by the translucent material/fabric. My best advice here would be to contact B&H Photo and speak to one of their very knowledgeable staff members. They have helped me many times in finding just what I needed, even if they are not the ones who sell it.David C

what is the color temp of these bulbs?
Asked by: Anonymous
The bulb spec is 3200k. I havent done anything to verify this but the auto white balance on the camera yields decent color accuracy. Good enough for web publishing.Hope this is helpful.
