    Ewa-Marine VFX reviews

VFX Underwater Housing is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is an excellent, cheap housing. We used the EWAMarine underwater housing (aka splashbag) with our Sony Z1U HDV camcorder to get transition shots between air and water (from a boat as a filming platform). For this purpose, it was fantastic! We were originally considering the use of probe lenses and a minijib, but for a fraction of that rental cost instead purchased this housing for the Z1U and got the same types of incredible shots. No water leaked into the bag. FYI, we purchased the weights and the drying packets to go along with the splashbag-- both are necessities in my mind. Nothing can screw up a camera quicker than high moisture levels, and the weights help to keep the camera in the correct orientation as it enters the water from the air.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Ocean going canoe experience At the University, we have a Hawaiian Studies program that includes an ocean going double hull canoe that is 53 feet long. It holds a crew of 12 and the camera person must be a crew member. As we do not have to go very deep, but are in constant wind and waves, this is the perfect housing for us. Going more than 6 feet, the air in the bag will not let you go deeper. Looking through the viewfinder is difficult and focusing is impossible. We did get very good video on board even in storm type conditions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to use The price is ok for the underwater case. Its easy to use but its looks like a shopping bag and its not looks professional. Other than that, its a good product!
