Sunpak 620-005S overview

  • 1Description

The Sunpak DigiPro Compact S is a 5-leg section tripod that folds down to a compact 13.6". This is accomplished by eliminating the leg locks used with other tripods. With this tripod, to unlock the legs you simply pull down the leg sections, and with one half twist all leg sections get locked at once. To collapse the legs you give it a half-twist and simply push them together.

This tripod features a compact ballhead. The center column converts into a short column for low-angle work, and the rubber leg tips provide traction outdoors and protect surfaces indoors.

Lightweight and sized perfectly for fitting into a backpack, the DigiPro Compact S tripod is an excellent vacation tripod when traveling. Ideal for backpackers wanting support for their camera or camcorder.

DigiPro Compact 5-Section Tripod (Silver) with Ballhead is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 6.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful for Travel! I purchased this tripod for the sole purpose of traveling. We went to Jamaica on our honeymoon and I wanted to be able to easily snap some photos without bugging other people on their vacation to take them for us. This was perfect. Extremely small and lightweight and it does a great job of holding up a Rebel XTi. It sets up and tears down in no time which is very handy if you are out and about and just want to catch a good picture. Just make sure the cams are completely locked and you will be good to go.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Travel Tripod This tripod is the tallest that will fit into my small back pack (when folded). There are plenty of compact tripods out there, but they only expand out to 4ft or so. If you're an avid scenery photographer like me, you would appreciate an extra foot of height for better landscape perspective. The ball head makes life so easy. When I go out to the wild, my tripod seldom stand up perfectly straight because of uneven floor surface. Rather than adjusting the individual leg heights, I can just level my camera (to the horizon line) via the ball head. Much better than my previous pan and tilt head. The twist legs are easy to expand and collapse. But sometimes when I didn't twist it tight enough, a little pressure can collapse one of the leg. Luckily my camera didn't come crashing down to the rock when it happened. It's a bit tedious to make sure that all 5 leg sections are locked in tightly. When the middle column is raised, stability is compromised, especially on windy days. Other than that, this tripod is quite sturdy considering how small and light it is. I can go above the recommended max weight on landscape (horizontal) orientation. But on portrait (vertical) orientation, the big and heavy lens can droop down slowly, because of the small size of the ball head. Most of the time, it can accomodate my Canon 20D + Canon 10-22mm + Flash easily.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lightweight & Compact This is the smallest, lightest tripod I could find anywhere close to this price range. The tripod is solid and seems to be reasonably well built. The only issue I have is with the legs - extending and retracting the legs could be a little smoother, requiring less force. And, I wish the locking mechanism was metal, not plastic. Overall, I am happy with the purchase....

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Many Features Legs open instantly with a flick of your wrist and close the same but be careful as it may collapse if all cams aren't fully engaged. I put a manfrotto 700RC2 head with 3/8 adapter on mine and think it is a really nice compact light weight solution for travel with true fluid motion. Previous Equivalent Items Owned: Large Manfrotto tripod Items I Recommend: some kind of camera

Rated 2 out of 5 by from You get what you pay for! I needed a compact tripod and was on a tight budget so I purchased this one. It's rather hard to operate and can be frustrating at times. You really need to check it more than once to make sure the legs are locked. If you can afford a better compact tripod then I suggest you buy a better one.
