Celestron 93623 overview

  • 1Description

The 1.25" Oxygen III Narrowband Filter from Celestron yields high transmissivity by blocking unwanted longer wavelengths of light, giving higher contrast to your observation and photographic experiences. By isolating just the two 496 & 501nm doubly-ionized oxygen lines emitted by planetary and emission nebulae, while blocking the rest of the overall spectrum of light. The result is extreme contrast between the black sky background and the faint photons of OIII light needed for detailed views of the Veil, Ring, Dumbbell, Crescent and Orion nebulae among other objects.

Each filter has an ultra hard, vacuum-deposited coating carefully designed to block all of the visual spectrum ranging from 400-700nm, eliminating the unnatural colored halos surrounding bright stars common with less sophisticated O III filters.

    Celestron 93623 reviews

Oxygen III Narrowband Nebula Filter (1.25") is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not good for a 4.5 reflector telescope. I thought a narrowband filter sounded like a great idea for my telescope, allowing me to see nebulae in greater detail, but it seems like maybe my tube is too small and doesn't collect enough light for this filter to work. I can see the really big, bright nebulae--which look green in the filter--but not nearly as well as I can see them in without it. And I can't see the smaller nebulae at all. So for me it was a bad purchase. Easy enough to use, though.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Can't tell it works...? I put 4 stars because the Wife said she can tell it works. Like the other filter I bought for her to use on her telescope eye pieces I can't tell a difference, but she says she can.
