Explore the night sky using the 9x63 SkyMaster DX Binocular from Celestron. This waterproof and fully multi-coated optic is specifically designed for the task and possesses two distinct characteristics that set it apart from many other binoculars and make it a good fit for the purpose: first is its wide 63mm objective apertures that allow lots of light and deliver good visibility in low-light conditions; second is its 9x magnification power that enables you to have good close-ups of the moon and stars, without introducing much image jitter due to shaking hands. This binocular configuration allows you to observe celestial objects with both eyes, which is an option that not every telescope has. Also, it is fully assembled and can be mounted on a tripod using an optional adapter. To ensure that you get clear images, without glare, the lenses are anti-reflection multi-coated. Other highlights of the optic are its center focusing, interpupillary adjustment, and diopter corrector. To protect this instrument while not in use, objective lens covers, a rainguard for the eyepieces, and a carry case are included.

9x63 SkyMaster DX Binocular (Black) is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from I would buy this product again These binoculars are multi-purpose. I use them for sightseeing as well as looking at the stars. Although they are not as heavy as some binoculars, if you don't have a tripod, you need to steady them against something to prevent the image from bouncing around.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Collimation Issues The size of this bino is probably the largest still possible to use without a tripod. It has nice construction, great eye relief, and most importantly it is water (and thus fog) proof. Unfortunately however, it has collimation issues. It is not terrible, but still obvious. I've ordered the first pair by mail. Then came to exchange them. The few pairs I've tried (that were in stock) all had collimation issues to some degree.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Money well spent! The first night I tryed the binoculars stargazing I located Jupiter and could see four of it's moons. I was amaized at the clairity of the image. I would recommend using a tripod.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from All -around top-notch performance I ordered these basically to complete my collection of all the Skymasters. These to my delight were both waterproof and fog-proof, unlike more-or-less all the others, two advantages I have since added on to my list of requirements for all bins I get. On first test, I saw some rather scary comatic aberration around Venus, due, I believe, to the horrible seeing conditions on that particular morning. My second test on fainter object clarified my fears, as 5th and even 7th magnitude stars were crystalline points of true-colored lights. And the M81-82 pair came through especially well, even in Bortle-rated 6 urban skies! In all, these are superb instruments well worth their price tag and even, in my opinion, quite a bit more.
