Mixing a comfortable short telephoto focal length with optimized close-up capabilities, the EF-S 60mm f/2.8 Macro USM from Canon is an EF-S-mount prime designed for APS-C-format DSLRs. As a true macro optic, this lens affords a life-size 1:1 maximum magnification along with a 7.9" minimum focusing distance, and its 96mm equivalent focal length also makes it an ideal option for portraiture. The optical design affords a high degree of sharpness and resolution across the image frame and individual elements have been treated with a Super Spectra coating to minimize lens flare and ghosting for greater contrast and color accuracy when working in strong lighting conditions. The lens also employs an Ultrasonic Motor along with an internal focusing design to realize quick, quiet, and precise autofocus performance as well as full-time manual focus override.

Canon EF-S 60mm f/2.8 Macro USM Reviews
Beautiful lens
I do a lot of macro and I will also use this for portrait. In fact I have a portrait shoot this afternoon at 4pm.
Amazing lens.
Great lens. Super sharp. Great build quality. Amazing pictures with my 90d
Great macro lens at a great price
As usual with B&H, the lens arrived quickly. It has proven to give excellent performance either handheld in the open or on a tripod doing copy work. I am very happy with this lens.
First Maco Lens
Took it out for spin on small fungi. Took some fine photos but because there is no Image Stabilization I learned that you have to be careful with shutter speed and with my aperture. If I set it wide open my focal length is very narrow. With practice I'll learn.
A very good first macro lens
I've been photographing birds for a very long time. Being at home more because of the pandemic piqued an interest in the pollinators and other insects around my garden. Why not macro photography? This isn't a top of the line lens, but for the money, it's solid, and a great first lens for macro photography. Images are crisp and clear and it is amazing what the lens can see that the naked eye can not.
Excellent Lens
Although I’ve only had this lens for several weeks, I already love it. Was able to get a super close shot of a bumble bee with no problem. I am also able to use it as a prime lens as it focuses to infinity. A very versatile lens.
My New Favorite Lens
I didn't know what to expect from this lens, never having used a macro lens before, and it absolutely does not disappoint. The range is incredible and the quality of image in the right lighting is stunning.
Great macro lens
Performs exactly as a Canon lens should. The images are sharp and clean. I have used Canon SLRs since the 1970s and have never been disappointed.
