This 10.75' Impact Turtle Base C-Stand Kit, in a chrome finish, is comprised of a C-stand, 2.5" grip head, and 40" extension arm. The stand features a patented locking mechanism that allows the legs to swing out and lock into place for easy setup and collapse flat for storage. The included extension grip arm fits neatly into the stand's removable 2.5" grip head, allowing you to offset the stand and cantilever flags, gobos, or lights out of the way of the action. The stand has a low center of gravity, which allows mounting of heavy equipment without tipping. The legs are perfectly shaped for saddlebag-type sandbags. The kit is also often used as a short boom.

Durable finish resists all weather conditions.
Innovative design on the Century Stand base allows individual legs to be set at any angle and be positioned in locations not possible with classic stands.
Ergonomic "T" shaped handles are "captive"—they do not come off of the stand when unscrewed, preventing loss.
Each riser section has an external rubber gasket, which protects your equipment and fingers from sudden drops in stand elevation.

This c-stand is solid. I use it with the Westcott FJ400 and the 53 umbrella and it works like a charm.
Best for less?

You can probably spend more for a quality stand ... but why? I have 4 Impact turtle stands and love them all.

is this fully equipped to hold a ad400 pro or is their an attachment i need to buy
If you will be connecting the Godox AD400Pro Witstro All-in-One Outdoor Flash directly to the 5/8" stud on the top of the center column on the Impact Turtle Base C-Stand Kit (10.75', Chrome), then no additional adapter would be needed. If, however, you plan to connect the Godox AD400Pro Wistro All-In-One Outdoor Flash to the grip arm included with the Impact Turtle Base C-Stand Kit (10.75', Chrome), then I would recommend purchasing the Impact 6" Baby Pin with Collar 1/4 and 3/8" Tap, B&H # IMSRP110P. This would be inserted into the grip head on the grip arm, and would allow you to connect the Godox AD400Pro Wistro All-In-One Outdoor Flash onto the grip arm.

How high will it get my Godox QS400 into the air? It says it's 10.75'. Is that as high as the arm kit will go? Thank you.

What secures the risers in place after ...
What secures the risers in place after positioning and tightening? Is it the screw pressing against the riser or is there a 360 design squeezing the riser?
I never had a reason to take mine apart to see exactly how the screw tightens the riser, but it never leaves any marks on the riser when I've tightened mine. The design and quality is excellent and I have no complaints or issues. It is taller than the Avenger stand which may not be good for some setups, so keep that in mind.

question
How long is the riser at its minimum/collapsed height (w/base detached)?
The collapsed height of the C-stand riser with the base detached is 50.5

question
I've never used a C-stand before. I have a Flashpoint Xplor 600 and a variety of modifiers. Is there anything additional that I would need to mount the strobe to this stand? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
If mounting the light to the grip head end of the extension arm, the Impact SRP-113 Long Double Stud 5/8 B&H # IMSRP113 would be needed. Otherwise, if you wanted to mount the strobe directly to the stand, you would remove the extension arm and place the strobe on top of the 5/8 stud there. Either way you go, using some counterweights such as the Impact Saddle Sandbag (15 lb, Orange) B&H # IMSBFO15 across the legs is ideal to keep the stand stable. Please see the image below for reference.

I would like to take off the Turtle base, and instead, use the stand with a kind of wall plate that could receive the stand. (I want a flat base, no legs.)
What’s the size of the bottom spin of the stand? Is there any wall plate receiver that will match this size?
You can get a junior receiver wall plate https://bhpho.to/2N3b1QK.
