Nikon DK-5 reviews

DK-5 Eyepiece Shield (Replacement) is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 50.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Does what it says but easily lost Yes, it absolutely blocks light from getting into the eyepiece - which is why I bought one. I shoot a lot of timelapse and don't want stray light getting in, which can alter the exposures. The reason why I bought 4, though, was because while it does come with a handy little hooky thing on the back that fits onto the standard strap on my D300S, it tends to come off under real world rough 'n tough usage. So I keep one on the strap, and a couple in my camera bag, and one more at home in the kit box Just In Case.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It Works It does the job. I tested it together with a body cap on my D7100. A 30-minute exposure in a brightly lit room gave a completely black frame with long exposure noise reduction turned on (and a substantial amount of noise with LNR off).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It is for an extra eyepiece shield replacement I keep extra parts just in case if I loose one.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works on D7100, D3200 Works as designed on both Nikon D7100 and D3200. Keep them on clipped on the camera straps of both cameras, as well as several in all of my camera bags... Would be nice if it had a lanyard...these things get lost easily.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fragile piece not easily found As the description clearly states, this is an Eyepiece Shield and it fits my D5200 Nikon SLT Camera. What is most liked about this product is it protects the Eyepiece lense when I am not using this portion of the camera. Without it, I would get dust in this difficult to clean area. There is absolutely nothing that isn't so great about it. It has a purpose and if you, like myself, are looking to protect your investment then this is a must have item with the rest of your camera accessories.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Pesky Little Devil! These eyepiece shields are such a pain. They're so easy to lose, and easy to forget to replace. I do a lot of tripod shooting and use the live view, but every once in a while I do handheld shooting and use the optical viewfinder. That's when I lose these. That being said, they're not expensive. Buy a replacement and two more for backups. That way, hopefully, you won't be stuck if you lose the replacement.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good item when using live view on camera. When using live view you want to block any light entering threw the view finder. This is one option other then putting your finger over the view finder. You must remove the rubber eyepiece to install this. Wish they had something else so that I didn't have to remove the rubber eye piece. If your shooting quite a few pictures in live view, this is the way to go.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Functional, almost convenient Small enough to lose when you're doing something that might need it. Keep it in a safe place in your bag and never take it out. Replaces the eye-piece you might have on your camera already (usually a rubber-lined surface) to black out any extra lighting that might make it onto the CCD during exposure. Essential if you're doing natural light night photography
