For over twenty years, Simmons has cultivated a reputation as a leader in offering outdoor enthusiasts fine sport optics products.

The ProHunter 3-9x40 Riflescope features the TrueZero erector system for enhanced repeatability, and multicoated optics for a clear and crisp sight picture - even when it's raining.

The Quick Target Acquisition eyepiece affords the shooter peace of mind - dialing across the entire power-range has no effect upon the eye relief. A consistent cheek-weld is a key component of accurate shot-placement, and a constant eye relief means you're one step closer to taking that trophy home this year.

A mounting base and rings are used to attach a riflescope to a firearm. A comfortable sight picture is contingent upon the height of the rings. A comfortable cheek-weld is the result of properly positioning the scope over the receiver. Mounting the scope close to the receiver is preferable, yet scopes with larger objectives need higher rings so the front bell can clear the barrel. It should be noted that in many mounting applications, a professional gunsmith's skills will be needed for proper installation.

ProHunter 3-9x40 Riflescope (Matte Black) is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from 3-9X40 Master Series Prohunter Definitely not your granddad's Simmons scope! This scope iseverything that Simmons claims. Sharp-looking, clear, bright and without any distortion...just like my Nikons! The fast focus eye lens allows for rapid focus regardless ofthe scope power magnification and range. The windage andelevation knobs are precise and accurate and do not requiretapping in like some other low-end scopes. I was able tozero at 100 yards in only 7 rounds and then shot easy 1 and1.5 3-shot groups. The power magnification ring was stiffat first but loosened up after several back and forth turns.I can't comment on durability yet but have seen nothing toindicate durability issues. If you want or need a good scopeand don't want to spend a ton of money, this is the way to go! Previous Equivalent Items Owned: Simmons 3.5-10X Whitetail Classic scope

Rated 5 out of 5 by from New Scope Bought 2 of these, one for .243 the other for .30-06. Both are crystal clear, great focus and look really good mounted on the rifles. was surprised at the clarity of the lenses and focus stays clear through out the magnification range. if you want a solid reliable scope with out the huge price tag I would recommend giving this model of Simmons a try.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great scope for good price. Good scope but does not pull in the low light like my Leopold but that is substantially more expensive.
