Nikon HB-1 Overview

Lens hoods are primarily designed to prevent unwanted stray light from entering the lens by extending and shading the end of the lens. In addition, since the end of the lens is extended, you also get the added benefit of some extra protection from accidental impact.

Dedicated lens hoods are designed to match the specific focal length of the lens it was designed for.

Very pleased with this lens hood, and the great service from B&H

Bought it to use with my 24mm/2.8 D lens

I bought this for my Nikon 24mm/2.8 D-lens. This hood will also fit my 50mm f1.8 and an old 28/f3.5. It fits fine, just be careful if you thread it with a lens that has plastic threads.

Again, B&H saves the day. I needed to replace a cracked lens hood on a lens for a shoot that popped into my schedule. B&H had the correct hood in stock an i received it within three days of order. GREAT!!! Thank you

Perfect fit. No vignetting on widest lens setting. Only possible improvement would be to make it metal instead of plastic.
