Rolls PI9 Overview

The PI9 Phone Patch II from Rolls is a compact unit ideal for applications in broadcasting, conferencing, phone training, or any other time a phone call needs to be recorded or sent over a PA system.

Simply connect the PI9 to a standard telephone connection, and it will use transformer isolation to direct the signal to a pair of RCA jacks or the 3.5mm mini jack. The transformer isolation keeps the phone line separate from the output signal, meaning the unit won't keep the phone line open unless the internal jumper is moved.

Note:
The PI9 only works with standard RJ11, single-line phones. It does not work with VOIP systems or any digital phone systems.

question

I do a podcast and sometimes have to interview over the phone, i currently use behringer umc404HD to input audio to my laptop and record over audition, i want to use this to record such interviews but need to have my guest listen to my mic over his phone, right now I put a mic close to the speaker on my phone unit. Is this the correct item for me? Thanks in advance for your answer
Asked by: Pablo I.
The Rolls P19 will not isolate you and the caller. In order to send your microphone signal back to the caller without feedback, you will need a mixing board with an aux send, such as the Behringer XENYX 802 8-Channel Compact Audio Mixer, (B&H # BEX802.) Also required, is a telephone audio interface, such as the JK Audio AutoHybrid - Telephone Audio Interface, (B&H # JKAUTO.) Please contact one of our audio professionals if you need further assistance.

question

will this work for, sending sound over a phone...in other wordscan i broadcast a live sound application over a phone so someone else can listen?
Asked by: Karlin M.
