Nikon HB-34 Bayonet Lens Hood
Key Features
  • For 55-200mm DX Lenses
The Nikon HB-34 Lens Hood is primarily designed to prevent unwanted stray light from entering the lens by extending and shading the end of the lens, plus prevent vignetting when shooting at wide angle. In addition, since the end of the lens is extended, you also get the added benefit of some extra protection from accidental impact.

The "petal" shape of this lens hood maximizes the amount of hood coverage for the minimum amount of weight and hood area. This dedicated lens hood is designed to match the specific focal length of the lens it was designed for.

Will this hood serve as a replacement for the HB-14 for the 70-180mm Micro 4.5-5.6D ?
Asked by: Evan C.
I'm sorry no. You will need the original hood, HB14 (used) or get a screw on or clip on hood. Click the links below to view; https://bhpho.to/3iaqv34 https://bhpho.to/2YGwWmS

question

anyone know if this will fit a AF Nikkor 35-70 f2.8? The HB-1 I have from my old 28-85 fits it but I still have sun getting past it sometimes. With the longer range the 35-70 already has a longer hood might work better I'm just unsure if there's one that fits this older film lens. Anyone got suggestions?
Asked by: elizabeth b.
Unfortunately we do not know if this will fit any other lenses. It was only designed and created to specifically cover 55-200mm DX focal length lenses. Using it with anything else may cause it to vignette or get in the way of your image.

The HB-34 is designed to fit the 55-200mm DX lens. For the Nikkor 50mm f/1.8 lens, check out the HB-47 lens hood: http://bhpho.to/1fPrPpE

question

Does this hood fit the Nikon DX AF-P NIKKOR 70-300mm 1:4.5-6.3G ED? Its one of the lenses that fits the Nikon D3400. Also, what lens hood fits the kit lens for the Nikon D3400? Is it the HB-45? Thanks.
Asked by: Anonymous
It may not fit because the hb-34 fits the 55-200 zoom and has a 52mm filter size and the 70-300 zoom has a 58mm filter size. Hope this helps.

No it will not work on the 18-140mm lens. You need the HB32 for the 18-140mm lens.

question

can the HB-34 be used instead of the HB-37 for a 55-200 mm VRII lens?
Asked by: Steve H.
Yes. I purchased a VRII lens without a lens hood then bought the HB-34. I agree with Jmmy, perfect fit.

question

Will this work on a Nikon 70-200 f4? Thanks!
Asked by: David S. P.
I don't own this lens, but I doubt it. Nikon recommends the HB-60 for the 70-200. I use the HB-34 on my 55-200 exclusively. You might want to try the HB-37, though.
