CameraBright X1-W overview

  • 1Description

Today's digital still cameras have the ability to take excellent videos and movies. The problem is that the unit is only provided with a flash unit at best, which only works for a split-second. When taking videos, you need a light to come on and stay on. CameraBright lights are designed to turn on and stay on while you take your video. The advanced technology built into every CameraBright light ensures continuous, simple, single button operation; push the button once to turn the unit on, and push the button again to turn the unit off. If you forget to turn the unit off, it will turn itself off in a matter of minutes, thereby ensuring a great video next time.

This Warm White version is ideal for portrait Photography and videos where the main subject is people. The warmer color balance provides more pleaseing skin tones and makes bacground colors less harsh.

Take better pictures or videos at night
CameraBright light's advanced white light LED technology allows a fuller spectrum of light to illuminate your exciting moments in low or no-light conditions.
Connects to virtually any camera or camcorder
If your camera or camcorder can connect to a tripod, then it can connect to a CameraBright light and still connect to your tripod.
Reduces Redeye
Some of today's modern cameras have a small intermittent light that comes on just before taking a picture, which is intended to reduce redeye. This current solution is typically inadequate and less effective with larger groups or longer distances. CameraBright lights work with your camera's existing technology and almost entirely eliminate redeye in most cases. Say good bye to retouching your pictures after they have been developed.
Improved picture quality with your existing flash
If you are using your camera in a low or no-light situation with a CameraBright light, you can "see" what you are taking a picture of, therefore eliminating the need to take many pictures hoping to get everybody in the shot or hoping they were all looking at the camera. Use the CameraBright light to set your picture up, and when you snap the perfect picture, the flash will go off just as normal.
Easy on, Easy off
With a simple thumbwheel mounted on the back of the unit, simply rotate one way to connect to your camera or camcorder, and then rotate the other way to disconnect. But with CameraBright light's compact design and huge benefits, you will never want to take it off again.

    CameraBright X1-W reviews

X1-W Warm White Digital/Video Camera Light (Silver) is rated 2.2 out of 5 by 15.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Flimsy item A very cute and sometimes handy little item whichconveniently screws into the tripod socket under your cameraand with a reasonably bright light in a pinch. The onlyproblem is that the tripod screw is made of a inexpensive and softplastic that snapped off in my camera in the middle of ashoot, while just tightening the screw, causing a scratchedcamera base while I tried to pry it out so I could attach mycamera to the tripod. Moral of the story: Never overtighten the screw on theCameraBright! Problems Encountered: Inexpensive plastic construction - tripod screw broke off whiletightening

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Caution: This product has a bite! This product was a tough when to give a fair review. It is a great little light especially for portrat or interview recording. I love how you can take it with you and not have to lug around a larger light. However, the screw piece on the top that attaches itself to the camera is plastic. Mine broke inside my ZI8 Camcorder while filming in the woods! I was adjusting the camera and it snapped off. Huge inconvenience! I would expect better for a price take of around $30! If this piece was metal, five star all th way! p.s (Purchasing a reverse drill bit to drill the broken piece out will work. This bit is design to go in a little ways and then grab while in reverse. These bits are expensive and may have to be purchased in a kit!)

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible - Worthless This light is worthless and gives hardly any light at all even 1 ft away. I was told to change the batteries even though it was new and out of the box. The Batteries cost approx 3 times the use of the unit. Cheaply made, and not worth purchasing.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from The extended range version is worth looking into Nice basic idea, but this model has very few lumens, doesn't illuminate that well from the bottom of the camera, and when I put it in my camera bag, the on/off switch is easily turned on by accident, and you could arrive at the shoot with needing to immediately put in four new batteries - and they're not that cheap. That said, I just ordered the extended range version, and will keep this one for the spare batteries. At outdoor weddings at night, the extended range one will help immensely for focusing. Just keep it in a special case when traveling so the on-off button doesn't get pushed.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Light works great and is so small Used it for lighting speakers in dark seminar room. With small camera like Kodak Play Touch works well and is so small to not be noticed by audience.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not very bright Very inexpensive. Does not throw out much light. You have to be very close to your subject to be useful. I guess you get what you pay for!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Dim and fragile Barely bright enough to see inside your camera bag. Plastic screw will break off inside your camera's tripod socket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Little light packs a big punch This is a great little light. I bought it to use with my flip camera. It's got a good 5-10 foot sweep.
