The Cokin Z-PRO 086 Pastel 2 Resin Filter - Whereas you can always retain the feeling of sharp focus with a diffusion filter, the effect of a pastel filter is more clearly distributed over the whole picture. These pastel tones can have a very harmonious effect on the image. Pastel filters reduce contrast in a way which is quite visible.
The difference between light and dark areas is reduced to an almost equal level by the very pronounced scattering of light. Shadows lose detail thus contributing to the light and airy atmosphere of the image.
The Z-PRO Series is recommended for focal lengths of 20mm onwards (in the 35mm format). This filter is made of CR39 Resin which is a reputable lightweight and shock-resistant optical material also used for ophthalmic glasses.
