question

I use a SONY Multi-Function DVD Recorder to convert and preserve my CANON HI-8 family video tapes. Each video tape runs for 2 hours (120 minutes).I purchased a Verbatim stack of 100 DVD-R discs expecting to run a two-hour tape and record on a sigle disc. I've tried twice, and only get one(1) hour of recording on the tape. Why?

It might be what you have the record setting at. Typically the default setting is the best quality/ shortest recordable time. On your remote, it may have a button to set the rec speed or similar. That changes the quality of the transfer, but would extend the record time. Maybe check your owners manual for this setting adjustment. Hopefully this helps you.
