K-Tek KE-79CC Reviews
Had it, got rid of it, and need it now.
I had one for years and never really used it. With Covid19, it's now a tool I am using. Well built and very handy.
not solidly built
After two uses, the xlr connector on the bottom of the pole came loose. I am now taping it in place and using an L-adapter to keep it in place. Also, the knobs are finicky and come loose more easily than I would like. The fact that it is compact and has inner cable are the best things about it, but it could be so much better.
Love this for documentary
Its my new favorite boom pole for just about every production. Only thing that tricks you. If you use the cable it requires phantom power. We thought it was a tech issue and rigged another XLR to it on a shoot and realized it was user error. Just FYI. BTW: size is killer. Ive never used 15 foot of boom pole on a documentary so why bring something that big unless you like hauling around a bunch of heavy stuff. Just sayin... This is the navy seal of boom poles for docs.
Great!
Works well and the cable inside the pool doesn't make noise like some pole. The size is perfect to fit on a audio bag. The full size is a little short, but it's not a problem for me.
great compact size
I've been working with a lower end fishing pole for the last few years when I have one man band shoots. I finally decided I needed a come compact, professional boom pole. This one is great and fits in most of my medium sized cases (Pelican 1510, my Portabrace camera case etc). My only wish would have been for a side exit XLR so I it can rest on its end with less risk of port damage.
Love it!
Very compact and very stable.
Great portability
A great short boompole. Perfect for those times you're on the go. Cant beat the weight / price point.
Super small and convenient!
Fits in a regulation carry-on sized bag! Great for international travel.
