This Dead cat is authentic, and when bought from B&H Photo and Video, rest assured you are getting this item at the best price anywhere. This product works as intended and B&H Photo and video have an accurate website description. The dead cat fits like a glove and makes my audio sound way better. I bought this for my original Rode VideoMic.

Would this fit the Audio Technica AT8035?

No, the Rode Dead Cat is designed for use with Rode's NTG1 and NTG2 which are much shorter mics than the AT8035. The Dead Cat would not cover enough length on the AT8035. You can use the Rycote Standard Hole Classic Softie Wind-Screen - 9.4" Long, 0.7 to 0.8" Diameter Hole, Gray (B&H # RYS24M) or BOYA BY-P240 Windshield for Shotgun Microphones (B&H # BOBYP240) which do both fit the AT8035.
