    Raynox HD-6600PRO reviews

    HD-6600PRO52 52mm 0.66x Wide Angle Lens is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 29.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Same quality as alternatives, 6x price I bought this converter based on the reviews, but I am very dissapointed. I'm using it with a Nikon 18-55 kit lens on a D5100. It is EXTREMELY soft everywhere except the center (what the kit standard lens covers at 18mm) and suffers from heavy distortion on the edges, as well as slight vignetting. It costs 6-7 times the price of most alternatives and has similar performance (including the cheap Chinese ones). It is quite useful as a Macro lens, even though you can't detach the wide angle extension and just leave the macro. Completely useless for semi-serious photography. Go for a cheap alternative or save for a real wide-angle lens.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Didn't expect it to be that bad. I didn't expect it to work great but thought it might be acceptable when stopped down. I screwed it on the front of my 24mm Canon pancake lens which is about 38mm equivalent. I hoped the combination would give me a wider angle of about 25mm for occasional use. I could see the soft edges on the little reviewing screen on the camera. I tried different f/ stops and then viewed them on the iPad's bigger screen. Small improvement when stopped down but I don't believe anyone would want to use it. It may work on some video cameras or even other still camera lenses, but my test combination was soft in the center and mush around the edges. I should have known better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Essential! I use the HD-6600pro52 on a Canon HV30, they also used it with a Nikkor 35mm/f2 and I am surprised with the exceptional results. I'm very happy with the results so far. The product is really very good. I recommend it in your bag, especially if your camera or camcorder did not prove much of an angle of vision. I did not like much of the back cover, I think should have a bevel to facilitate the docking and have a better sealing against dust.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great lens for the HV30 I bought this lens to give my canon hv30 a wider view. I had read some good things about it and was in between this lens and the canon brand lens. Im glad i ordered this lens. It is wonderful. The black lens matches my hv30 beautifully. At the widest zoom length the lens works great. I do not see any noticable distortion on the edges what so ever. When zooming in at its furthest zoom, ghosting is very visible, but why buy a wide angle lens if you plan to zoom in so much. Over all, im very glad i purchased this lens. Priced lower than the canon, and works perfect.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great lens for very reasonable price I have my Canon HG10 for one year already, I'm very satisfied with camera, but the angle was not right, close shots was terrible narrow, I've decided to by wide angle, and after long investigations I've decided to by this one. It was perfect choice! The HD-6600PRO52 52mm 0.66x Wide Angle Lens works great! Absolutely no distortion - everything is as promised! I highly recommend this! I use this one with 43-52mm STEP-UP RING on my Canon HG10.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful I Have been using the Raynox 6600 on my Canon Vixia HV30 and it is absolutely amazing. Looks beautiful in footage and on camera. Works as expected or great. There is a much larger radius of frame and thing look much farther than they actually are. Which is good when i was trying to do some long shots The bad: Some of my footage for a short film looked a bit different only because i shot 24 frames per second and with the lens it looks more like 30 frames per second. so be aware it appears to smoothen movements and look like its adding frames. But that could also be good =) Dont forget to buy a lens hood for this. The one i use is an XHA1 lens hood which you can buy at LA color shop online

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great lens! Great Price! I use this lens with a step-up adapter on my hv30. Increases the field of view significantly. There is some barrel distortion, but amazingly no vignetting or blurriness around the edges. Also, I've noticed no discernable light loss when using this lens, focus does not appear soft either. However, this IS NOT a zoom-thru lens, so if that is important to you, I would consider another product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A perfect product I bought the Raynox HD-6600PRO52mm 0.66x Wide Angle Lens (with step-up ring as part of the pack) to use with my Canon Vixia HV30 camcorder. I bought the Raynox instead of the wide-angle lens offered by Canon (WD-H43 I think) after doing A LOT of research. My gosh, I am so satisfied with my decision. All I can say is that the Raynox is simply superb. The image quality is absolutely crystal: PERFECT at all levels of focus. I was also blown away by just how much it expanded the camera's width of image capture. It has a huge effect. The lens came extremely well protected and padded inside its own hard plastic container - damage during transport could never be an issue with this product. This was my first order through B&H. ... If you have the Canon Vixia HV30 and are thinking of getting a wide-angle lens, I would recommend this without hesitation. The HV30 is an absolutely brilliant product (except, unfortunately, for a little motor noise that you can get rid of by mounting a microphone). The Raynox lens complements it perfectly.Good luck! Jason
