Savage Background Port-A-Stand Kit

This stand is made of aluminum.

The Savage Background Port-A-Stand Kit consists of two black folding upright stands that can rise to a height of 8' 10", a crossbar that can expand to a width of 9' 5", and a travel case with handle. It is ideal for the photographer on the go. The stand (w/o paper) is lightweight (12 lb / 5.4 kg), and compact, collapsing to less than 44 inches. The Port-A-Stand is designed to safely support 9' rolls of seamless paper, as well as cloth backgrounds as heavy as muslin. For 10' wide cloth backgrounds, either fold the edges under, or gather and drape the material to fit the width of the crossbar.

The width is dependent on the cross bar and in this case the crossbar will extend out to a maximum of 9 feet, 5 inches.

So long as you do not add too much of a softbox it should be doable, but obviously it will not hold the background at the same time.

The Background Port-A-Stand Kit includes a roll of white seamless paper. Additional roll options would be sold separately.

You can use this background support with a canvas if its less than 9.5' wide.

Normally, these stands are only used for holding backgrounds. However, an adapter such as the Smith-Victor 568 Universal to 5/8 Adapter B&H # SMLSAU58 could be used. Your results may vary.
