Fujifilm Pro 400H overview

  • 1Description

Fujifilm's Fujicolor PRO 400H Professional is a high-speed daylight-balanced color negative film with a nominal sensitivity of ISO 400/27° when processed in C-41 chemistry. Featuring fourth layer color and Interlayer effect technologies, this film exhibits a soft contrast profile with faithful, yet vivid, color reproduction. It produces smooth and natural skin tones and has a broad exposure latitude, making it suitable for general photographic applications and working in a wide variety of lighting conditions. Additionally, Fine Sigma Technology yields an unobtrusive, fine grain structure that helps to maintain effective film speeds and produce smoother surface textures to benefit scanning and printing applications.

Fujifilm Pro 400H reviews

Fujicolor PRO 400H Professional Color Negative Film (120 Roll Film) is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 122.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Natural colors I use this film most often in one of my Holgas or the Diana+. ISO 400 works great with these lomo cameras that offer scant adjustment choices. Even with these plastic lenses the Pro 400H film produces natural colors with a good range. Of course, this film is a dream in my Pentax 645 as well. This has been my color film choice of late because of its overall value. It is a little less expensive than Kodak film and offers consistent results even with plastic cameras.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Same as above This product was requested by our professor who teaches our medium format class. All shots are taken inside a dim lit studio for our projects. Using this product with a honneywell light meter shows the quality of this product by Fuji. It has a wide latitude of darks and lights which shows on the printing side of the house.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing colors! I used this for primarily shooting portraits and weddings. I usually use Portra but wanted a change of pace. I like the look of it. I tried shooting it how Jose Villa does, by shooting it at ISO 200 and exposing for the shadows. It makes a dreamy look with beautiful colors. The film however is not very good in low light. It can be pushed very well but not as good as the Portra series

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pro film for portraiture and more I am not ready to retire my Hasselblad and do not have $10,000 to spend on a digital back so I still buy film. I use both Fuji and Kodak. I prefer Fuji when I plan to crop or enlarge to greater than 20x24 because of the fine grain. Try exposing 400H at 200 to improve grain structure.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looks great even when expired I was gifted a couple rolls of 400H when I borrowed a couple of Hasselblads from a friend and fell in love with it from the first roll. I'm gutted that it's not available at the moment. The images had a dreamy quality that I've been trying to emulate with digital and presets/actions to poor effect. It has a wide latitude and worked well in low light conditions as well as full, noonday sun. Portraits looked lovely, with natural and slightly creamy skin tones that are very flattering to women.I would buy a dozen rolls in a heartbeat if it were made available again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One of my favorites. Great film. Wonderful for landscapes and portraits alike. I think I even prefer it to Portra. The only thing about it that is not so great is the price. Beyond that, one of my very favorite films at an extremely versatile ASA with pleasing grain.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Difficult but rewarding This is a pretty tricky film, partly because it doesn't like too much direct sunlight but is a low speed film. I like it though because it's a nice change from the warm temperature of Kodak with its vivi blues and greens and the way its reds pop out. It's like a painting or a crayon stroke. I think it pushes phenomenally though. 1600 iso is absolutely gorgeous on this. The way red and yellow contrast with the cool tones is extraordinary. -pushing -cool color cast

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fujicolor PRO 400H Delivers! Looking for a delicious portrait film for your medium format kit? Fujicolor PRO 400H delivers the classic Fuji elements that you look for: The famous Fuji greens, the luminous reds. On top of that, add skin tones to die for. Is it as strong a technical film as Portra? Probably not. It won't push as well or stand up as well to low light. But that color? WOW. I strongly recommend a try for those who have not yet shot a roll.
