Helping to reduce reflections and glare, the 4 x 4" Circular True-Pol from Schneider is a circular polarizer well-suited for cine applications. This filter suppresses reflections and glare by filtering out light that has become polarized due to reflection from a non-metallic surface, which results in a noticeable increase in the saturation of skies and foliage, as well as clearer imagery when working in hazy conditions. Compared to the traditional True-Pol linear polarizing filter, this circular polarizer is ideal for preventing viewfinder blackout when used with cameras featuring polarizing elements in the beam-splitter of their viewing system, such as the Arriflex 435 and MovieCam Compact.

The filter is constructed by laminating the polarizing film and a 1/4-wave retarder plate between two sheets of clear water-white optical glass. An Edge Seal process is then used to guard against edge chipping and delamination, as well as contribute to reducing edge reflections and flare.

Lessens haze in distant landscapes and provides more saturated, vivid colors.
Strongest effect when used at a 90° from the sun.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Schneider Circular Polarizer Lee Filter Holders will hold this filter. If you have one of the thumb screws tightened down, it will not fit, therefore loosen the thumb screw , insert your filter and turn thumb screw until it supports the filter. Works well. This will also work with thin filters that could slide out. Just make sure your filter holder has the thumb screws in place and learn how to tighten and un-tighten the screws.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Filter Just used this gem on a short film that had a huge part of the story take place in a car. Worked great on eliminating as much glare as possible. This filter also can give more rich colors when shooting nature. Great pick up, always trust Schneider. Make sure you have the right Matte Box however!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good, but $$$ filter I felt that this is a good filter, but there were a few things that made me return it. First, I got the impression that it would fit into one of the slots of my Lee filter holder. It does not. It is far thicker than the Lee filters. Secondly, comparing the results between it and a $40 Promaster CPL, I was not overwhelmingly convinced of it's superiority. Although the filter did produce a clearer, sharper image, the image just wasn't worth the price difference.
