Rated 1 out of 5 by from Almost useless This is one of the most poorly designed products I've ever had the misfortune of trying to use. As others have stated, its rubber tab can inadvertently come into contact with the drum head. What they haven't said is that this clamp is unusable with triple-flange or die-cast hoops - there's no way the clamp WON'T touch the drum head. It works just fine on bass drums or wood-hoop drums. But you've already got a stand for your kick, and how often do you run across wood hoops on toms? Come on. Don't buy it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from You can find your way around I just got this thing and I dont like it for drums, its imposible to place a mic with this thing, its flimsy and ugly even for the price. you can clip it onto cymbal stand rather than a drum rim with better results.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from UNOBTRUSIVE & EFFECTIVE DRUM MIC CLAMP We provide live sound for a variety of musical clients. Especially when working in the festival format, quick and seamless change-over is imperative. These little clamps mean exactly that-quick clean change-over (band to band). Sometimes inexpensive and small products can make a big difference in stress levels. These clamps also allow a surprising range of mic placement and stay out of the way of stick strikes. We are going to buy more and they will get a lot of use!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Decent, but not road worthy Good enough for home studio use, but I would not recommend them for anything more than a couple of low impact gigs. Not the best design at getting a good grip on the rim, but the price is right. Because of this flaw, over-tightening will tend to distort/bend the clamp. The metal is not so hard it can't be bent back, but not too many cycles would led to fatigue and early failure. Low profile design, but not a lot of flexibility in placement.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Clip is OK if you are creative Because of the design, the thicker side (with out the screw) can only attach to the outside. Therefore this makes the screw part go into the inside of your drum . Which is very awkward, and you have to be careful to keep it above the drum head not to effect the sound. I was able to get it to work this way, but I believe the kind that clip over the whole drum rim are better. But for the price, I guess they work.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from They are okay with a small modification I suppose they work on some drums but had to be modified to fit well on my Pearl ELX set. The B&H price is great. You can't find these at music stores on or off line. I had to grind down the inner part of the clip so it would fit on the rims of my drums. You have to screw them tight so they won't slide but doing so causes holes and breaks in the rubber hoods. I don't know what to use to protect the rim.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good clip I've been using them for a few weeks now and I have no complaints. I cannot comment if they are worthey of repeated gig use, but they are working fine for my project studio.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works well for RIMS mount drums Not the toughest clamp out there, but adequate for casual gigs and amateur recording. Works well on my Slingerland Studio Kings with RIMS mounts.
