Telescoping Mini Boom with Clutch is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 15.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Almost perfect solution for many situati I've got a half dozen of these in use throughout my studio. They are especially great on my custom made wall & ceiling mounts. My one complaint is an ease-of-use issue... I find it cumbersome to need to turn & turn the knob until it is unscrewed enough for the teeth to unmesh & allow adjustment, then have to turn & turn it once adjusted. There are only two positions needed here: opened, and closed. So I modify mine by replacing the threaded knob with a simple lever that allows me to instantly open and close the posi-lok with one swift motion. Why don't they make them that way? Then it would be a 5-star device!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Necessary Accessory This is a great alternative or adjunct to boom arms, especially in permanent or semi-permanent installations; e.g. desk mics / lecterns, drum or amplifier mics, ambient / room mics, as well as an ideal replacement for many gooseneck applications. The Posi-Lok Clutch is very solid and the entire assembly feels solid. As another reviewer mentioned, I would also have preferred a metal ring for the telescoping pole, but the existing screw/ring mount seems to be reasonably solid. I also agree with the reviewer who replaced the Posi-Lok screw with a lever, as the screw lock is unnecessarily cumbersome. A few minor things that prevent me from giving 5 stars, but still great value for the money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Angle Without Overhang Regrettably, no overhang DOESN'T mean immunity from the dreaded hangover... ...However, this little beauty undoubtedly provides sure relief from one of the audio world's most persistent headaches: the lack of floor and elbow space. You've been there. The venue's architect has created an oh-so-fashionably magnificent acreage for selling drinks, with the result that the band's effectively playing on a window ledge. Conventional boom stands would mean that the only way of placing a mic in front of the keyboard vocalist's mouth would have the boom's stub in the saxophonist's ear. The bass player is subject to a somewhat different problem. Let's just say that she or he may have some reservations regarding the development of an overly personal and eye-watering relationship with the conventional hardware that's intended to position the drummer's vocal mic. Not with one of these. The teeth grip, the extension's secure and the mic stays where you want it to be. Oh ...and it's cheap, ...so there'll be some money left for the headache pills.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not worth it Very flimsy, the boom has a very weak weld to the clutch, and we expect it to bend break off at any time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great clutch boom PRO The locking clutch on this boom sets the directional position solidly. Solid construction as expected from Onstage products. CON Would be nice if the telescoping lock was a metal sleeve instead of plastic, but hopefully you wont be changing this often. OTHER This boom does not have a counterweight arm, so its' best use is with a fixed mount, or crane mount from above, or double mount with an existing counterweight.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just what the doctor ordered. These mini booms are thought through well, and built like all of the On Stage stands I own- makes mic placement easier, and cleans up the studio or stage floor. The telescoping arm is the way to go for versatility.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No complaints - works perfectly I use this boom on a lectern for a church. It is neat and unobtrusive, and easily adjusted by the clergy. It is well made, and the price is excellent. I can't think of any negatives on this item.
