Ee-D Grid-type Focusing Screen is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 43.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from make this your standard screen Anyone who photographs architecture with a wide angle lens knows that image shapes are highly sensitive to the slightest change in camera angle. It is sometimes possible to align a building with the edge of the frame, but a grid screen makes it much easier and faster. I simply replaced the screen that came on my camera with this one and never looked back. As I worked for years with a view camera I am used to seeing the world through a grid screen, but it might take a slight period of adjustment for people who have only ever used small cameras. Once you have worked with it for a little while, however, you will notice the lines only when you need them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does Not Have 6-Lines On The Vertical ...counted them twice. I still come up with only five vertical lines. So there must be a difference between this and the EGD Screen. Since I only have the original Canon 5d screen (and now the EED screen), I can only comment on what I have in comparison. The EED Screen seems a lot brighter. I have an older Canon 5d that doesn't have Live View. I like the grid feature presented, and I am certain that it will help to align my shots on the horizontal. Especially for the quick, low shots on-the-fly and occasional tripod mounted architectural indoor shots. Easy to assemble and use. Comes with a nice swap-out tool and case. Instructions are straight-forward.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Must-Have Addition This grid is essential. Whether I'm shooting people, scenics or architecture, the grid is a subtle but really helpful reminder to get those verticals square. The grid doesn't get in the way ever. If it's not needed its very easy to look thru it, yet its always available as a guide if needed. Not distracting at all. I've been a photographer for 30 years.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great tool I really prefer this grid screen, being an old 4x5 guy. They provide valuble composition references. Just be sure to change the custom function to the proper setting.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Improvement I purchased this to help with landscape and architectural photography. After a short while I have been able to ignore the grid lines when I don't need to use them for alignment with the horizon. The best thing for my 5D is that I noticed that with this installed, my camera will auto focus much better than with the standard screen. I highly recommend this item.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it! I am an architectural photographer so I needed something to help me line things up within my frame and this is perfect. The grid lines help me tremendously. It was easy to install and I have never removed it. The grid lines are thin enough so that you can ignore them if you want but they are always there to help if you nee them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ee-D Grid-type Focusing Screen by Canon This screen is used in multiple situations. Photographing dragsters as well taking portraits has been definitely improved. The grid makes composition a snap. The kit and installation guide worked flawlessly - to only a few minutes to remove one screen and replace with the grid. You have to be careful, cannot drop or touch the screen...it will pick up matter that you cannot see until installed..had a previous experience and it took a long time to get it cleaned.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great focusing screen I use this product as my standard screen. The grid lines are extremely fine and can be overlooked if chosen but are invaluable to have -- especially when using ultra wide and wide angle lenses. It is also advatangeous when shooting landscapes. The image is bright and sharp on the screen, as well.
