Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product at a Great Price I shoot portraiture and product photography so I am always looking for a product that will serve multiple purposes. this softbox fits the bill perfectly. Whether I'm going for a soft window light effect, or trying to capture the subtlte differences of the leather on an inline racing boot, the results are just what the clients want!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from It's not 48 It is 112 cm and not 120 cm. Due to this problem the front diffuser does not fit properly. I have to attach the diffuser at outer possible edge and there is no room to attach grid any more. The quality of material is good and assembly and disassembly is rather simple.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So much better than the others! Have used Chimera and other softboxes for 30+ years. Many are a nightmare to assemble/disassemble. Photogenic has a zipper that turns assembly and breakdown into a manageable, quick job for one person. The rods are reversible and exactly the right length, flexibility and weight. The quality of construction and of the light is superb. I wish all my softboxes were built by Photogenic.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Just what I was looking for The zipper helps so much with easy tear down as I was tired of struggling with the other large soft boxes I have. It's a large light source, but doesn't take up as much space. I wish the rods were more securely held in and didn't fall out when folded up, although it works great. Needs a better bag than the one included so rods don't have to be removed every time to fit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super Octagon After seeing results from Octagon use I knew to get one of these and so far I've been very happy with it's ease of set up and tear down. For use I set it up pretty much 90 degrees to the model and vary the distance forward / backward to soften or harden the light. Haven't had any problems so far with the item!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great softbox, the rods are terrible This is actually a 5 star box, but the rods are subpar. The light was great, wrapped around the subject, I didn't have to set up any other reflection like I had in the past using a large rectangular softbox. I have set up many brands of softbox, many types, large, small, strip, rectangular. Almost every box had rods that had end pieces that were ATTACHED hard rubber. These rods have end pieces that are metal and fall off constantly. Did I mention constantly? I used this box once for commercial headshots at my client's location (besides assembling it a few times on my own so I would know how to do it). First time assembling it, the metal rod protectors fell off two rods. I simply put them back on. Not sure why they weren't part of the rod itself. Then on the job, they fell off again, but I knew enough to scout the area during tear down to make sure I didn't lose one. If the end pieces were a hard rubber, this would be perfect. The hard rubber would keep the rod in the pocket during assembly, gripping the material. With a smooth metal, the rods are falling out during assembly, the end pieces are falling off - why are they not glued or part of the rod? When I tore down, two of the end pieces were stuck in the pockets and I couldn't retrieve them in the three minutes I stood there trying to. With an issue like that, it's just a matter of time until the rough end of the rod rips the pocket. Or I'll end up duct taping the end of the rod to protect the pocket. For the cost, this should not be an issue at all. A bit disappointed in the rod quality.
