Enhance the quality of light coming from your on-camera flash with the OM-EW Omni-Bounce Diffuser from Sto-Fen. Designed for select flashes, this diffuser slides onto the flash head and will diffuse the light output, producing softer shadows and a more natural glow rather than the harsher effect created when using a direct flash. The diffuser also helps to provide even coverage across the entire frame which is especially useful for wide-angle shooting

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Diffuses light, works great I purchased this unit to fit on my 430-EX. I do a lot of indoor shooting at events and must avoid the harshness of direct flash. I often bounce light off the ceilings and walls to accomplish that, but in those situations where the ceiling or wall color is not neutral, I use the Omni-bounce on the flash and tilt the flashhead at a 45 degree angle. It works great at spreading the the flash out and avoiding the harshness of direct flash, but be aware that using it costs you light. For that reason, the more high power the flash, the better. Every camera bag should have some sort of flash diffuser in it, and this works great and costs very little.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from tilt it up 45 degrees Buy this thing when you buy the 430 EX II - it works great. It is important to follow the direction and tilt it up 45 degrees - the results are much better. Obviously using this thing will reduce the effective distance of your flash, so compensate accordingly. I'm shooting the 7D with the 430 EX II, getting nice results. The 430 has a built in flip-down diffuser, but this thing approximately doubles the amount of diffusion compared to the built in one. It's only about $10 - one of the cheapest ways to diffuse light.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Great Light Modifier The Omni-Bounce is a great indoor flash modifier that can definitely make some great on-camera or off-camera flash pictures. I would agree that there are certain shortcomings to this modifier (lower power output, favors indoor use) however I feel that most of them are due to improper use or other limiting factors. Any modifier, whether it is a bounce card, a gel, or a bare bulb modifier will reduce power output because the light is being diffused/unperfectly reflected in some way. Additionally, if there is nothing for the light to bounce off of you cannot expect normal power light in one direction (for that I would recommend a snoot or grid). That being said, I feel that this is a great alternative to the much more expensive Gary Fong Lightsphere which I feel I could approximate with a clear/white plastic container. I use my StoFen with a Canon 430EXII flash currently.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great, cheap way to improve flash For the price, there is nothing better than the Omni-Bounce diffuser. There are all kinds of complicated attachments for your flash that will provide fantastic light, but this is the simplest and cheapest solution and it does a fantastic job. It fits the 430 EX perfectly and softens the light so it spreads more evenly over the entire scene. The diffuser is not bulky and looks fine on the flash.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Omni-Bounce Improves Results I've been using bounce flash for more than 30 years, because I believe the results are far better than firing a strobe directly into my subjects' faces. While better than direct flash, bouncing a standard strobe off the ceiling often produces pictures of faces with dark eye sockets and uneven lighting. The Omni-Bounce dramatically improves the overall bounce lighting effect by kicking additional light toward the subjects for my photos, and in less than one month, I've found that I need to do far less retouching. So far I'm very pleased with this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from OM-EW Omni-Bounce for Canon I use this on my Canon 430EX II flash. Well made, does exactly as described. Softens the harsh flash into a soft light. I would recomend purchase of this product to anyone wanting to soften out their flash.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Inexpensive Diffuser An easy to use compact flash diffuser. Just make sure you stretch it out before attempting to install it on a Sony HVL-F43M flash. Out of the box it is way to tight.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from You'll notice the difference! I use this with the Canon Speedlite 480EX II. It makes a huge difference in diffusing the flash. ...
