    12VM412ASIR 1/2" 4-12mm F/1.2 Infrared Manual C-Mount Lens is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 14.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for Micro 4/3s cameras Nice wide angle lens. Fast! Works great in low light. I use it on a Panasonic GH2 with a c-mount adapter. For the money, it's amazing. I shoot video, not stills with this lens. For stills, one might want to invest in a fully automatic lens. This lens is about as old school as it gets using the way I do- manual everything. Note also that is has a zoom function, but must be refocused every time you zoom in or out. Still, until I save enough for a Leica, this will work. Kind of looks silly to the client who knows gear. But if looks are not an issue, this is great! Can do amazing macro too!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice quality I got this lens for wide angle video on M-4/3. You have to use the digital crop mode on camera because it does not cover the fulle 4/3 sensor. At 4mm, it's bright, and picture quality is nice even wide open. Focus is easy and can focus very close, almost touching the lens. At 12mm, it almost covers the full m4/3 sensor, but unfortunately the brightness drops to about f2.5. At 12mm, the focus is very hard to accheive because the throw is really short. The image quality also degrades a bit at 12mm

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Quality C-Mount lens for the GH2 I used this lens with a my Panasonic GH2 Micro four Thirds camera via a Cmount to m43 adapter. I used a think adapter made by Kipon so I didnt need to modify anything. You have to use ETC mode or it will vignette severely. But in ETC mode there is none. The 2 best uses for it are really wide angle shots and macro shots. I was very impressed with the macro abilities of the lens. You can literally touch the lens and it'll still be in focus. The one down side is that when you zoom all the way in, you loose infinity focus. You can really only get things about 6 feet in front of you to focus properly. But if you're not zoomed all the way in, you can get everything in focus fine. So you do loose a little bit of that tele reach. Overall a great lens if you're okay with shooting in ETC mode. Just be aware that in ETC mode artifacts like grain show up more easily in low light.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A versatile close-focus lens I use a lot of these lenses for low-light close-focussing, along with the smaller Tamron 13VM308ASIRII. Both lenses provide decent resolution over a wide range of focal lengths with focus down to 100mm or less. I appreciate the slip-mount on both lenses, which allows rotation of the body without changing focus. The 12VM412ASIR is an infrared extended lens, and almost as good as the more expensive megapixel Tamron M12VM412. I haven't tried the cheap Tamron 13VM2812ASII, which might also be an alternative.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from great little lens Great lens, fast and sharp, even wide open. Use with GH2 in crop mode and you get a very bright, very wide image. You'll need to custom fit an adapter. search for it on YouTube.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from very useful We use this lens in our laboratory for general imaging and laser beam profiling in the near infrared with c-mount video cameras. It has a very flexible range of adjustments and produces sharp images. Construction quality is not impressive, it is mostly plastic, but it is light in weight and inexpensive.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for my application, excellent price/performance Wide range with usual caveats. C-mount means if you zoom too far out (wide-angle, small Fd) you may not be able to achieve infinity or far focus. For machine vision, not beautiful bokeh for gosh sake.
