    Pelican 1524 reviews

1524 Waterproof 1520 Case with Padded Dividers (Desert Tan) is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 61.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Long anticipated purchase I really like this case, so why not five-stars? I made this purchase anticipating a more robust storage/transport case for my gear, but the padding isn't quite what I expected, so only time will tell if it performs they way I expect it to. I may just order a foam kit and go old school since this is dedicated to two Nikon cameras. This isn't my first pelican case either, but it is the first one purchased specifically for my camera gear. And speaking of newer cases, the latches on this case are different than my other (older) Pelicans, and while they do seem more secure, they are also more difficult? to operate or maybe just new? either way - it's a trade-off that I'm ok with, but just thought it worth mentioning.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Can never have too many pelican cases! I run a small video/film production company and I own several pelican cases that I use to safely transport equipment to and from jobs. I love the feeling of security and peace of mind I have in using these cases. I don't buy the cheaper one personally... I only use pelican. I don't go underwater with these cases, but I do know my gear will be perfectly protected in inclement weather, rain, snow, etc... I don't have to worry. Great to have the dividers as well for customizable and versatile storage. I much prefer the divider option over the foam version. I use this case for my audio recording equipment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from All and MORE I took this case out with me this weekend on a 26 mile canoeing trip and it was amazing from sitting in a constant 6inches of water the first day in a torrential down pour. TO becoming my seat by the camp fire at night this case rocks. I put it through so things in would never had expected the case to go though just because of horrible weather and latches stayed strong and gear stayed dry. The case also cleaned up very well the mud and river slim clean of real nice with just some windex. All around the best purchase i have ever mad for my camera gear

Rated 3 out of 5 by from good case but inserts not for DSLR Good: sturdy case, well made, offers good protection Bad: dividers designed for old, smaller film cameras and lenses. The L dividers that are supposed to fit around a SLR only accommodate a camera about an inch thick and cannot be adjusted or modified to allow room for the finger grip on every DSLR I know about. Also the instructions warn to not leave the case in an enclosed space like a trunk in warm weather because the case could melt and damage my camera. I bought this case to protect my camera in the trunk. Order this case with the foam inserts if you live in a cold climate.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easier to open case The foam in my 20 years old Lightware case turned to moon dust and became sticky, what a shame for a $350 case. I have a lowepro omni Trekker, which is a lowepro case in a pelican case, and it works great but wasn't big enough. So I wanted something that would last, and in case the padded dividers fall apart I will be able to by replacement. The new latches are easier to open, and I chose the yellow so I can find the case after a night of stargazing. I figured it would be harder to leave a yellow bag behind as opposed to a,black one. It will be used to carry my eyepieces and finder scope.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid... I have only owned this case for around 4 months now and I am absolutely in love with it. There is nothing like the piece of mind you have when carrying your gear through a torrential downpour and you don't have a care in the world. Yes I have bumped it into things and dropped it on occasion and all of the contents are unscathed. Truly the best of the best and I will be a life long customer. This case is legit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for photo gear on the go I bought this case to store photo gear during my trans-Arctic trip. It accommodated Canon5D+grip, EFs 50 F1.4, 16-35, 24-70, 70-200 + EX580II + chargers + 2 spare batteries and even found space for Gary Fong lightsphere. Sturdy, watertight, bulletproof. I've been using a bigger Pelican case during Camel Trophy 1995 and since that I know there is nothing better to protect your gear out there when it comes to tough terrains and extreme environment. I also have 1020 and 1060 for smaller gear like GPS and Canon G10.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Case I have needed a case for a long time to replace an older one with broken zippers. I am very pleased with this seemingly indestructible one. I was able to fit all of my camera gear into it, but only just. Here is what I have in it. Canon 5D SR 16-35 lens 24-70 lens 70-200 lens battery grip misc cables and remotes and a few odds and ends ...see picture attached I would agree with a previous reviewer that the dividers have a design flaw, but I was still able to get it to work with my setup so I didn't take off a star for that. This case will definitely outlast me.
