Wimberley F-9 Overview

The Wimberley F-9 Flash Bracket consists of modules M3 & M9. It attaches directly to the swinging arm of the Wimberley Head Version II. Since it is attached to the head and not your lens, it remains in place when you switch lenses.

The bracket folds flat for easy storage. When folded flat, the bracket can also be used with side-mount gimbal heads such as the Wimberley Sidekick.

Note:
This bracket will not work with the old version of the Wimberley Head, which is compatible with the F-4 Bracket.
Elevates the mounting point for the flash 5.5" above the center axis of the lens.

question

Will it fit any Arca Swiss rail? Thinking of using it on my Kirk L-bracket to elevate the flash when using a monopod with Kirk MPA-2 head. Would be great if I could use it on both that setup and my Wimberley Gimbal. Looks like it should as the Wimberly II seems to be an Arca Swiss rail.
Asked by: Stirling S.
I use the Wimberley F-9 on two off-brand Arca Swiss Gimbal heads, the Movo gimbal and and from the former Calumet Photo with no issues from either one. I would say it works with most Arca Swiss Gimbal heads.

I believe it could be made to work as it can be mounted to a arcs type base plate. I would suggest contacting Wimberly directly as they make the bracket. From my experience it has several mount options.

Is this flash bracket sufficiently high enough off-axis from the lens, or is it recommended to get the Wimberley Module 6 M-6 Extension Post to get the flash a little higher?
Asked by: Seth
It forks fine depending on what lens are you going to use it with , for longer focal length lenses you might want to get M-6 post
