Shot bags come in a variety of shapes and weights. They are used for securing the bases of light stands and set walls. This Impact 15 lb saddle style buckshot filled bag has two wings, to allow draping over light stand legs. Each side of the bag has a hand strap for easy handling and hanging on hooks.

Impact SHB Reviews
We used these on every job for a year and then they started to fail one at a time. First it was a bottom seam, then a side seam. One after another 6 of our original 8 have failed, spilling shot on not only our shop floor but a clients location. Do yourself a favor and spend a little extra on proper bags from a real manufacturer. Unless you plan to only move them once or twice, these will not withstand daily use.
I love these impact shot bags and will be getting more this year.
Great, especially for indoors.
No matter what company I purchase sandbags from, I swear I'm cursed and at some point, there is sand on my floors and it drives me wild. These are worth the premium.
Can never have too many, unless you are the only one loading in or out.
Shot Bags are of nice quality!
I ordered three of the 15 pound shot bags. After receiving them I looked them over carefully. I can report that all the seems are sewn securely and the handle is sturdy enough to withstand repeated use. As with everything, they will eventually wear out, but I don't anticipate that happening in my lifetime.
Worth the extra money for shot vs sand
Just used these for the first time on a shoot yesterday, and borrowed two sand bags from a friend as well. The sand bags were leaking and got sand in my car, which wasn't a big deal but affirmed my decision to get the smaller, cleaner shot bags for just $20 more per bag.
Stop Buying Sandbags.
Great Quality, and a much nicer experience to use as opposed to the sandy alternative.
It's sturdy and heavy
I took one star off because they staple a tag into the handle, but the legs of the staples aren't folded over and stab you when you grab the bag the first time. Ouch!
