    Smith-Victor TR56 reviews

TR56 Flash and Video Bracket is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 29.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Second Using a Flash/Video Bracket I found a similar item on Amazon...well made, but a bit too big for my hands and also lacking the nice foam hand hold on this one available from B&H. It's a smaller bracket, but very sturdy, holds a shotgun mic and fairly heavy 160LED battery operated light array up top. The foam makes it comfortable; everything is held on tightly. Use with an iPhone 5S for video and photos; and with a Vixia. Fast to switch out one device for another. Makes a great MOJO setup. I gave the original Amazon item away to someone with larger hands!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Don't be fooled by looks. Best of it's kind. I searched and searched and searched for items like this in other places and on Adorama. I couldn't find any that were sturdy enough and comfortable enough. I could care less about the look. As long as it was light and worked. The cold shoe mounts are screwed in, unlike every other "higher quality" brand, which weakly welds them in. Reports on other similar models complain about the choice to weld. Most others have a single shoe mount as well, which doesn't do any favors to video oriented work. It even has a female screw inderneath to mount or put on a BlackRapid strap. Haven't had any peeling problems and the grip, though not the best, is sturdy and hasn't caused me discomfort. Still, I think some company out there can do better, but I don't see much on the market.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice bracket, when modified. I would rate this 5 stars easy. My setup is a 60D, with a videomic pro on top of the 60D, which goes into my H1, which is atop this bracket, with a ball mount so the H1 is angled the same way as my 60D. The only problem was that this bracket came with the top cold shoe loose, and the side one a tiny bit loose. When I used it, you could hear it rattle through my mic, and it didnt feel secure. Now I got some tools and tightened it up, and its perfect. I recommend it if you know how to tighten a cold shoe down.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I would buy this product again Very good and strong mounting bracket. The grip feels very good and helps to balance my VIXIA HF S21 Camcorder. Too bad that I can not use it on the left had side because it blocks the touch LCD panel.I wish they could have made this bracket with this issue in mind.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Would not work with my tripod Good build. I wanted to like this but when I connected to my tripod it would not connect securely.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Needs longer arm for wide screen monitor With the advent of the wider screen cameras such as the Canon HV30, the monitor does not have enough room to swing all he way open. This is a huge limitation. They should extend the arm to accomodate wider screen flip out monitors.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I would buy this product again Good bracket. Wish the foam on handle was a little thicker for my big hands Rubber on the bottom holds the camera really well. Only complaint on the one I got was that the threaded hole ( where you would mount on a tripod ) on the bottom of the bolt that goes into the camera, the threads were messed up could not mount to a tripod. Need to call BH about replacing bolt.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Convenient and Compact This product is small enough that it doesn't get in the way, but adds just the right amount of weight needed to get stable hand held shots on a small consumer camcorder. I just use it to mount my onboard mic and it hasn't let me down yet. Super cheap and sturdy. I like how it fits as a snug connector between my camera and tripod plate.
