    Behringer PP400 reviews

PP400 Phono Preamplifier is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 61.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Value in a preamp! I bought this to use with my Technics Turntable and my IMac and I couldn't be happier with it. I am using Soundsaver software to record my old LP's digitally and needed a preamp to boost the signal from the Audio Technica AT92E cartridge. The Behringer PP400 did the trick wonderfully. I used the grounding connection on the preamp and don't get any loud hum from the turntable, so the grounding connection is a plus. This preamp is designed for use with Magnetic cartridges and was easy to connect. One only needs the appropriate interconnection cables for the application as the preamp includes a power supply.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Cheap And Cheerful A phono preamp is required to boost a turntable up to line-level so you can use it with other audio gear. Most DJ mixers already have two or more of these, as do most home-theatre receivers; but if you don't already have one of those sorts of devices in your home (or home studio), then this is a cheap and unobtrusive way of getting vinyl into your system. I've had mostly good experiences with Behringer, as long as one keeps one's expectations reasonable, and this is no exception. The PP400 does NOT give you audiophile-quality sound, but it's okay for casual listening or transferring old LP's to digital. It even has a seperate output for headphones. I was also delighted to see that it has one of those small, skinny A/C adaptors that doesn't take up any extra space on your power strip.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very satisfied Extremely easy to install. Small size allows it to be easily hidden. I was instantly impressed with the increase in volume produced by my turntable after installation of this preamp. Before i had to turn my stereo volume all the way up and it was still no where near loud enough, now i have more awesome loudness than i know what to do with!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Compact, simple, and effective I bought this unit after listening to my turntable for the first time. In order to hear the music, I had to turn up my speakers all the way. Now that I have this preamplifier installed, the music is louder and clearer at low speaker volume levels than it was at full blast without it. I have no experience with turntables, but installation of the preamplifier was a breeze. As of this writing, I have no complaints about the unit. It's small, inexpensive, easy to setup, and greatly enhances the volume of the music.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great little preamp Its quiet and worked well right out of the box. FOr the price, it cant be beat. I am fussy about audio quality, and I did note a small amount of hum about -55dB, but I had not taken the time to properly ground the preamp. Since the disk I was transferring did not have any content below about 70 Hz, I took the expedient route of applying a software FFT filter to remove everything below 65 Hz which killed the hum plus some low frequency turntable rumble. If you need to capture everything down to 30 Hz, do as the instructions advise and ground the preamp and the turntable chassis.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works great!! Wanted to revive on old turntable on a newer receiver. My old receiver still had a phone input, but the newer one didn't. Was glad to find something that works!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good product for the rpice I like this product because it does what I need it to do.... which is amplify my turn table through a newer reciever that does not have a phono pre amp input. I am not an audophile that can tell what one unit sounds like over another however I can say without a doubt that my vinyl sound very crisp and clean and that is really all that matters to me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for my needs This is exactly the product I was looking for. It easily connects my turntable to my amplifier (which does not have a phono input). I plugged the furnished power supply to the switched power outlet of my amp. Therefore, it only turns on when I turn on my amp and vice-versa. I've had the great pleasure of listening again to my 80's and 90's records. Might I add that, is it due to the internals of the PP 4400 or the electronics of my Marantz SR 7002 (maybe both), I can hear sounds I did not before with my previous sound system.
