    Metz 76-56 reviews

76-56 NiMH Rechargeable Battery is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 16.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from One year later, not so good At first, this battery was amazing. Potent. Quick to recharge. One year later, it can't hold a charge very well, though it does recharge quickly. Even freshly charged, the flashing light (indicating low charge) comes on after a few near-full-power pops. One reviewer mentioned that this may be a communication problem and that the charge is actually near full even though the lights are flashing. Perhaps, though I'm afraid to keep going, since Metz advises not to empty this battery out. Very expensive for a battery that acts funny after one year. I have dozens of other rechargeable batteries that work perfectly after several years! Even AA's. The weak link of the 76 Metz line.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great when it works The battery is the only choice for the Metz 76 flash. I bought 2 spares when I first had the flash and they appeared to work fine. I found out later that these 2 batteries give a low battery signal after about 10 or 20 flashes. I didn't use these batteries often and the original battery worked fine. It took me a long time to discover this was a bad lot of batteries. The funny thing is they appear to give close to the full number of flashes on a charge, just flashing low battery the whole time. Anyway, fully check out the battery when you get it. I've since bought another and it works fine.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do Not Buy This battery I bought a Metz 76 and an additional 76-56 NiMH a short while ago . One of the batteries lasted for one wedding shoot and will not hold a charge. The second battery lasted for two weddings and now will not charge at all. Save yourself a whole lot of trouble and buy a Quantum product!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This battery is as good as it gets! When shooting events, the last thing I would have hung my photographic life on would have been in-flash batteries. My power pack was always at the ready. It still is, BUT this battery is unbelievable! It's absolutely amazing how long this thing lasts. Buy it with complete confidence. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Important to remember about this battery pack I have a total of three of these batteries. After a year or two I sent them off to have the cells replaced. The batters from Metz are I believe 1800 mAh. The place I used replaced the stock cells with Sanyo 2500 mAh batteries. The cost was $65 a battery to have each re-celled but worth it. The 76 MZ-5 sucks up a lot of juice.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A must have! The Metz 70MZ-5 came with a NiCd battery. It's charged long and didn't last. Couldn't find this battery in my country for a reasonable price so I ordered it from B&H and it made the difference. Charges much quicker and last much longer. Use it for wedding photography.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from NiMH for Metz I'm a semi pro and use the Metz 76 flash. At a freinds wedding my flash battery ran out 3/4 through wedding. This purchase is a spare so I can keep using my flash during long events

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great and reliable battery This will last you a long time if charged and used correctly. Worth the investment in price. Just make sure it always has a full charge and you are good to go!
