Excalibur Lancerlight AC/DC 1 Monolight Kit (110V AC/12V DC) is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Who needs a Qflash? Excellect product, I photograph weddings with 1 of these beasts, since I am to cheap to buy a Qflash. I use canon with a 580EX II. This flash along with the canon lights up the room like daytime. This is great because the postformatting for me is a breeze. Very little work required. Also since it is AC/DC I keep the battery pack to recharge my flash on my canon, and I run this through the wall outlet. Then if I need to do an outside shot, this is totally portable with the battery pack. Also you WILL need a radio slave unit with this flash, there is not anything built in.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good power, not so good increments I was a little disappointed that this had only 3 settings: full power, 1/2 power, and 1/4 power. Makes it impossible to shoot at shallow depths of field without using some sort of filter. Very easy to set up and take down....not too many parts that are easy to lose. It takes about a minute and a half to be completely ready to go. The stand feels a little flimsy, but I have nothing to compare it with since this is my first monolight. Got 90 flashes out of the battery at full power before the battery showed it only had 1/4 of the battery left. Probably could have done 30 more, but the manual recommends never exhausting the battery. I'm very impressed with the amount of power it puts out. I shot a wedding reception with the flash pointed at the ceiling at full power and it provided an ambient look for nearly the entire room (and the room was HUGE). For someone who is accustomed to shooting at ISO 1600, f2.8, 1/30th, it was a nice change to be down to 400ISO, f2.8, at 150/sec.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding product, great value For the price of 1 Nikon SB-800, you get a high-powered, genuine studio light, a lightstand, a rechargeable battery, & sync cord. The Lancerlight is light-weight & produces gorgeous light. Battery is strong & the flash refresh is quick. Mate the Lancerlight to a Westcott Apollo Mono Softbox, and add 2 or 3 Nikon Speedlights (with your choice of diffusers), & you've got an inexpensive, versatile, light-weight, wireless studio system that can match anything that costs 5 times as much. The only cord you use is the 10-foot sync cord that attaches the camera to the Lancerlight (or, buy a 16-foot cord from FlashZebra). The Lancerlight triggers the Speedlights through the Lancerlight's built-in optical slave. Best value on the market. The great battery that powers the Lancerlight is the icing on the cake. You can use it on the beach, back yard, anywhere.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from battery pack is a disappoinment I bought my kit about 6 months ago used it twice then put it away for about 3 months with the battery taken out of the actual pack/charger tried to use it again but the battery is dead and warranty is also ridiculous for something of that amount they only give you 90 day warranty
