    Roland KS-18Z reviews

KS-18Z Keyboard Stand is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 13.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sturdy yet portable i found that almost all keyboard stands lowest settings are still too high. this is one of the few keyboard stands which have the lowest setting of about 24inches. why is this important? you ask? well, many digital pianos/keyboards are 5 inches high (from the underside to the actual keys). most acoustic pianos keys are around 29 inches off the ground so this low setting is important to help recreate the feeling of a real piano. it may sound minor but to me, this was major. of course the stand itself feels very sturdy and substantial. it's height AND width are adjustable, has plenty of space for your legs while sitting, and compacts to a pretty compact size.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Reliable keyboard stand I got this stand for my new Kronos 7 workstation. It's solid and has great height adjustments. It also has good looks which I like. I read that for some folks who bought this stand, it jiggled a bit from side to side. It happened to me when my knee bumped against it but I tightened down the horizontal support beam and it hardly moves. Regular keyboarding doesn't make it move from side to side whatsoever. I'm content with the quality that this stand brings to the music table.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well Constructed Stand The KS-18Z is well built, with exceptional fit and finish for a product in this price range. Assembly is simple, and straight forward. The stand is not bulky when disassembled and folded down. It is light weight, and easy to transport. At its fully extended width, it holds my full-sized 88 key MIDI controller solidly. Very aggressive players may notice a slight lateral movement, but its limited, and not something I would mark as unstable. I find that the lowest height setting is perfect for sitting down to play it as you would a traditional piano. As a dedicated stand for a keyboard or MIDI controller for home studio / recording use, you really cannot go wrong with this product. The only limiting factor that I can see is the lack of provisions to add a second tier.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Stand! I bought this stand for my 88 key casio digital piano, which is a somewhat heavy keyboard, but it was no problem for this stand. It's extremely sturdy and won't budge no matter how hard I play. The only downside is that it is heavier than most stands, and when folded up it's not as compact as other stands, but I can still fit it and my keyboard in my small car. It is easily adjustible and I can either sit or stand when I play. Also the set up was easy and fast and didn't require any extra tools.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid and Easily Adjustable I purchased this stand to use while traveling with my Roland FP-7F keyboard. The stand is very well constructed and easily supports my keyboard for playing while standing or seated. It sets up and breaks down easily and is quite compact for travel. I didn't give it 5 stars because the two Z frames are securely held together by a single horizontal bar and without some type of cross bracing you will experience side to side sway, particularly when fully extended for stand up play. It is livable, just be aware of this.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pretty good, but not perfect For the money, I think this is a good stand. It looks good, comes together easily, and I don't worry that it will collapse or the keyboard will come off. The only weakness I can see is that there is some side to side wobble when I play at just a moderate intensity. It's not severe, but a little bothersome/worrisome. I can't think of any other weaknesses. That said, given that I don't move my DP (FP7F) around at all, I can't comment on its portability.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Like it! Easy to put together, sturdy, classy looking. It is somewhat more complicated than a X-shaped stand, but overall more reliable and long-lasting, I think. The problem we had with the X-shaped stand was that we stripped the one screw that held it together. Having many points of adjustment should help with that. It is somewhat heavy - too heavy for me to carry it and my 88-key board at the same time. ...

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Quite satisfied It is strong and sturdy. There is plenty of room for my pedals. It id more attractive than an "X" stand, according to people who seem to care about that kind of stuff. It has pads to keep from scratching the bottom of my heavy stage piano. It folds up into a compact package. Things I don't love: It is heavy. It has knobs that have to come off to set up/break down. I might lose them some day.
