Double Axis Spirit Level is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 57.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from I tried, but no thank you. I tried using this product for a while, but I have finally given up and purchased a slightly more expensive one from another brand. Small bubbles and the fact that the levels inside are not centered made me second guess this bubble level all the time. The worst part is when compared to other levels, it is definitely off. Save yourself the hassle and buy different level. (The table in my photo has a slight tilt to it but it is definitely not as extreme as this product thinks it is.)

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great Idea, But?? Use with a ball tripod head, monopod, handheld. Quick reference to level of camera. But,,, Will not fit the Canon 20D, 30D, 40D, 50D in a horizontal position longways, the shoe mount area is wider than the space provided on the vertical mount side. If the horizontal shoe mount was more centered, it would a very good product. Will need to trim one edge of the vertical mount to make it work.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from On the Straight and Level It works as advertised. I did quite a bit of research and looked at the $2 to $80 versions. I am learning about panoramics and it has been frustrating to get back home to find out the images are tilted, which can cause stitching problems. This works and allows me to get my camera level in seconds so that I can spend time creating the shots. If you have a decent level on your pano rig, then you probably don't need this. No problem of this one sliding out or not fitting my hot-shoe.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Money well spent I purchased tripod legs with a built in spirit level, but my ball head did not. This little thing is critical if you want to take perfect shots without having to move them around in photoshop and crop. Major time saver! It fits nice and tight. It will NOT slip out. You can mount it two ways, either vertically or horizontally(along the depth of the camera). I had to mount it vertically on my shoe on my D60 since it will prevent my pop up flash from coming up. Not a major complaint though. Priced better than something similar on the site and does the EXACT same thing.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Does not fit well in shoe Nice product, but it did not fit well in the hot shoe of my D200. Hence, I lost it the first day of shooting ...

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Level Device for Panoramic Shots I purchased this leveler to use when taking a series of pictures for producing a panoramic image. One must level the tripod base plate first, followed by leveling the tripod head. Not doing this results in a degraded image. My tripod does not come with a builtin leveler so I have tried several options. First I went to a local hardware store and obtained several different models of carpenter line bubble levels for about $2 @. These worked well enough. Next, I bought this Acratech leveler. The leveler is designed to be mounted in the flash shoe. It works well enough but I would say that it is a little small to level the tripod base plate. The carpenter levels are about 2x as long (2) and seem to be more capable with the bigger foot print. I did use this level to create vertical panaramic images when shooting tall buildings in Chicago. Sidewalk to topside radio tower: click click click. This was done freehand while watching the mounted level bubble and not the image in the view finder. This proved to be mostly successfull. Generally speaking, this device is excellent for taking pictures handheld, when the camera must be kept vertically or horizontally lined up with gravity. This is accomplished by mounting the level in the flash shoe. Quality control: This leveler should be longer for finer movements. The workmanship left something to be desired.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Level Photography My wife, and avid and experienced photographer, saw one during our recent Quark tour below the Antarctic Circle so I bought her one. She really loves it and found it to be especially helpful during sunrise/ sunset and other tripod photography in the Grand Teton park last week. A number of other serious photographers were also impressed. Other than the fact that it's small and perhaps therefore easy to lose, we have seen nothing negative and have recommended it highly to other photographers that asked about it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simply Perfect It works perfectly as intended on a tripod. Insert the plastic bubble level in your camera's hot shoe. It has two orientations for use in either landscape or portrait mode. Adjust your tripod head so both bubbles are level in both axis and voila, perfect alignment.
