  • 1Description

These VisibleDust DSLR Swabs - Green Series are specially tailored for cleaning the delicate sensor in DSLR Cameras with a 1.3x sensor size range (20mm).

The ultra thin MXD-100 multi fiber fabric of the Green Series swabs has a patented folding design to create a softer edge (compared to a hot sealing process), and is designed to be compatible with a wide range of VisibleDust solutions including VDust Formula, Sensor Clean, and Smear Away. Because the MXD-100 fabric of the green series swabs is compatible with Sensor Clean, you can take advantage of the anti-fog and dust repellent properties of this special cleaning solution.

The patented mini-channel paddle, with contour, provides an even saturation of the paddles surface while preventing pooling and vertical flow at the edge. This reduces streaks associated with traditional flat surface paddles. The mini-channels also provide an extra reservoir to absorb any excessive liquid thereby prolonging the moisture life of the swab during the cleaning process.

Perfectly sized for DSLR Cameras with a 1.3xsensor size (20mm).
Ultra thin MXD-100 multi fiber fabric is compatible with most Visible Dust cleaning solutions.
Patented mini-channel paddle provides even saturation while preventing pooling of cleaning solution.

Swabs for 1.3x Sensor - Green Series (12-Pack) is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 10.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Just what the sensor needed The product lived up to job. Very easy to use and did a good job on my dirty sensor that a blower or arctic butterfly were unable to handle on their own.A bit expensive considering what they are, probably $ more than I think they should be, but they are gentle and wouldn't want to risk ruining a sensor by going cheap.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Visible dust Green I like the build and feel of this product. It somehow feels better than the old sensor swabs. I did notice a bit of fiber debris from one swab however but a quick puff of air and it was gone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from They Work This was my first attempt to clean my sensor. After 4 swabs, it is clean. Wow! It is a great feeling to know I can clean it myself and not have to put up with a dirty sensor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from excellent I sprayed my Leica M9 camera sensor with canned air and - guess what?! - apparently there was condensation in the propeller which came out in liquid form and left marks on the sensor. I ordered the swabs along with the Visible dust sensor cleaning solution and they didn't disappoint. Naturally, I was very nervous about cleaning the sensor, but I followed the instructions included with the product and after 3 tries, my sensor was spotless.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Saved the day My digital cameras have been really, really good to me especially when it come to dust. Until recently there had been no dust problems the hurricane bulb couldn't handle. Alas my luck ran out and the time had come to clean the sensor filter. I took the plunge and invested in a Visible Dust 7x loupe and some Visible Dust Orange sensor cleaning swabs. On hand materials consisted of an older Hurricane Jumbo air bulb and Eclipse Optic Cleaning Solution. The lens was removed and the mirror was locked in the up position. The Sensor Loupe revealed a mess, dust and debris were everywhere, it was dirtier than I though. The next step was to use the Hurricane air bulb to blow out the dust. Sweat was forming on my forehead as this was a huge mistake. There was even more crud on the filter. Could it be the old Hurricane Jumbo was shedding material or was it stored incorrectly and was it simply dirty? A little voice inside my head said put the bulb down and nobody gets hurt. So that's an investigation for another time. I sparingly applied some solution to the sensor swab and made a single nerve wrecking pass. Now it was even worse as the loupe revealed big ugly scratches and smears on the filter. By now sweat started to drip down my forehead, my baby was trashed. So was it time to give up and take it in for repair before it got any worse? Not! Since the sensor was ruined beyond repair I gave it another go. I applied some more solution and swabbed again. This time making two passes and would you believe it the sensor was almost spotless. A couple more passes and the loupe reveal that it was pristine. My baby's back ;-) The loupe was invaluable in reducing the frustration of many photoshop dust tests and honestly saved the camera a trip to the repair shop. The only caveat is that you have to have steady hands to perform the cleaning.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from well I loved how easy this product was to use and it worked really. The only negative I have about this product is that it is a bit expensive. Given that thought it does work really well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wiped Away My Spots I had a couple major spots on my sensor showing up on my new D7100 after only a few month's use. With much trepidation I purchased these swabs, some VDust Plus Formula Solution, the VDust Mini Quasar 7x Sensor Loupe, and a vDust Hurricane Blower. I didn't want to have to deal with sending the camera in (expense and time) so I figured I better take the plunge and learn to clean it. At first these swabs seemed a little to harsh; meaning very stiff and hard on the edge. I expected a softer tip. It was a tight fit getting the swab onto the sensor. I wouldn't have wanted to try to do it without the loupe and light it provided. I pressed on, blew away any loose dust, added three drops and swiped one way then the other on the sensor while looking through the loupe. Presto! Spots and a piece of something on the sensor. Arrgh! I didn't panic, loaded up a second swab with three drops, swabbed one more time in one direction only. Once the sensor dried it was spotless and the problem spots were gone. The swabs and solution did their job. Just don't panic if it doesn't get it all with the first swab.
