Rosco 103 Overview

Rosco's premier range of filters are manufactured in a unique technology to insure the longest possible life under hot theatrical lights.

Three discrete layers are combined in a tri-extrusion process. By sealing the colored layer between two microscopically thin layers of clear film, dye migration is minimized and effective life is extended.

Diffusion filters are designed to alter the shadow characteristics or the beam shape of light.

I use this filter for a DIY table top photo studio. Great light diffusion even with cheap lighting (I am upgrading) and I've taken some excellent auction pictures.

I use tough frost on my lights for interviews. Does a great job of softening the light while not cutting the brightness too badly.

Using these with my LED lights has turned out to be the best interview lighting solution I've run across. They soften just enough with leaving the output mostly in tact.

Great frosted material

I purchased a roll of this as well as #112 Opal Frost. This material is fairly still and diffused enough to disguise the light source, reflected in a glossy object. Probably most similar to tracing paper, but cine plastic. I can't say that for the #112 material which is way too thin for my use.

I got this to put over top of an on camera LED light so that it would not blind the bride at a wedding. Works great without reducing the intensity too much.
