Hello-This is not diffusion fabric per se. If I am not mistaken, this is meant to be flameproof material to be put in front of hot lights. It is considered an expendable material on movie sets. It does diffuse light but I am not sure that it would stand up to repeated use on a soft box. I bought this product to soften the light from a ring flash strobe unit because I could cut it to fit the exact shape/size of the ring. I chose this product because of the heat developed but the strobe in some conditions. It has suited that purpose. It is in a fixed position and not moved or folded repeatedly as it might be in a soft box. It might useful to wrap a speedlight with or other diffusion application. Hope that helps.
