Sigma 8mm f/3.5 EX DG Circular Fisheye Reviews

Great lens for handheld panoramas

My health has gotten bad enough that carrying a heavy Nikon, tripod, and a very heavy panorama head has gotten to be restrictive. I would take anywhere from 19 to 130 images and stitch them together. This lens lets me shoot much easier and I have gotten some good panos by only shooting and stitching four shots. I am including one here.

Highly recommended for shooting 360 with EOS 6D

I use the EF version of this lens with an EOS 6D. I've used it for both 180-degree IMAX style night time lapses and stitched 360 degree VR photography. Works great, very little chromatic aberration at the edges compared to other 8MM fisheye lenses that I've worked with. While it's an autofocus capable lens, I would highly recommend setting the camera to single-point metering if you use that feature. In short, very nice glass!

Excellent lens

This lens is great, a good addition to my photography toys box, at least for the purpose I bought for, panoramas for Real Estate properties. It has a big flaw though, the auto focus is really sloooooow

used for panoramic view and tours. Best to shoot at least 3 photos instead of the two that the product can do - at least for a virtual tour

I use the product for 360 degree photography, and it is a great sturdy piece of equipment. I'm super happy about the delivery time, I think I had the lens 2-3 days after ordering it.

amazing lens. but unless I'm missing something and you can modify it is a crop sensor lens, not a full-frame. still an amazing lens for crop sensor

Very Good Limited-Purpose Lens

The 8mm f/3.5 EX DG produces a full circular image on a FF Nikon DSLR sensor, with black borders on all four sides. This is cool once in a while. The lens would provide greater utility if you were doing 360 degree stitched panos. For most applications, Sigma's 15mm f/2.8 fisheye would be a more practical choice. ... The 8mm lens is fairly sharp and has good contrast. It's a bit of a disappointment that Sigma hasn't updated and upgraded the 8mm into it's Art lens line.

This lens is recommended for a full frame Nikon body, however you can use it on a cropped sensor camera and will produce an image similar to approximately a 12mm.
